Has anyone seen their amateur fight back in 2005? I just read that at the 2005 World Cup in Russia, Korobov stopped Jacobs because of the 20 point lead rule in round 3. But I also read that the judges were giving Korobov points for practically nothing. So I was just wondering how the fight really went or if Korobov really did dominate.

Also, who do you think has the higher ceiling out of the two, and which ultimately would win should they meet down the road?

Korobov just looks the better out of the two for me personally,. but then again he is still fighting 4 rounders lol. Jacobs for me kinda stunk up the place on the Pac-Hatton undercard, it was almost like he didnt wanna know when the dude he was fighting started brawling.

Did Degale and Jacobs ever fight in the amateurs?

First of all, I've never heard of this fight, but worth checking. Cookie to the guy who finds and posts a footage.

Back in 2005 Jacobs was just 18, barely a senior while Korobov was 22, so it's very possible that the more experienced fighter, about the same talent, wins big over the noob, nothing to be ashamed of. If we're discussing a pro fight, it's a bit like the Gamboa vs. JuanMa debate: when they started at the pros, Yuri already had tons of experience and already reached his peak back in Athens, while JuanMa is just getting warmed up on the highest level. So at their debut, I'd pick Gamboa to win, but JuanMa will probably have a more decorated pro career. I wouldn't pick a winner let's say for a Summer 2010 fight just yet.

Of course, in a battle of young MW/SMW prospects, at the end of the year I'd pick Korobov for the same reasons: experience, also the powerful combinations style, but 2 years from now it's a 50-50 fight too. I also feel if Jacobs lives up to the hype, he'll have the longer and better career.

From his last match(Jacobs) I'm not sure that he is going to live up to his hype. But I must watch more fights. In this fights he even looked in trouble at moments to me.

No matter when or where this fight happened, Korobov would
be the victor - and thats no shame on Jacobs.

Korobov has it all, along with Rigondeaux, they are very
impressive indeed, very well balances, slick fighters - who
    can crack.

I hope its the Korobov Im thinking of though, because I didnt
think he was 22 in 05... maybe im thinking of a different one, but
if its the Korobov that fought on the Pac-Hatton undercard, then
he is as impressive as ive seen a prospect.
