If Gennady Golovkin is stripped of the IBF title, Daniel Jacobs vs Sergey Derevyanchenko is possible for the title, according to the article currently on the front page.

This is a very interesting matchup, I hope it happens.

    Who would you pick?

Yeah, if Golovin doesn't fight Derevyanchenko then I'd like to see Jacobs and Derevyanchenko fight for the title. That would be a fair result.

Jacobs doesn't do well against ex Soviet Union fighters. Knocked out by Dmitry Pirog, beat by Gennady Golovkin, and knocked out by Matt Korobov in the amateurs.:deal:

Jacobs has improved since his amateur days and since the Pirog fight, though.

Derevyanchenko was also defeated in the amateurs by Korobov. But he's improved a lot since then too.

I think this is an even matchup.

Im leaning Jacobs so long as he can stay disciplined and keep that distance in his control.

Hearns got pull and can throw money around....

But there is absolutely ZERO CHANCE that Derevychenko/Dibella would allow the PED EXEMPTIONS.
NOR CAN DANNY MAKE 169 NEXT DAY WEIGH IN since 186 is his ring weight

Hey man if Hurd can do it maybe Jacobs can too. It's interesting to me how some of the bigger guys for their division have that belt like Errol Spence and prior to him Kell Brook. You would think that they would avoid going for that title because of the IBF's rules but they seem to be doing just fine with it.

Well DJ was said to be 177 at the time GGG was 167 for his next day weighin.

I can't begin to understand the Hurd/Spence deal since they're just friggin gargantuan but Brook is built like Broner and all his weight in his lower body.

Easier to keep the weight off without detriment to the vital organs and less likely to cause potential atrophy since legs are genetics whereas any Tom Phallus or Harry can bulk up the back and upper body.

But good shout on the comps....

Any insight into the matter of the 3 PED exemptions granted by GGG and the later revelation that more than a couple of DJs opponents declined to answer irt the exemptions due to the NDAs they were signing

You need to know when it's time to step up though.

Cost Brook in the end.....How he was even able to do it for over 10 years is beyond me.

Jacobs was bigger than 177. The big guys rehydrate roughly 15 pounds. Jacobs was VERY big. Mid 180s at least.

I didn't know Jacobs was given any TUEs. I thought the point of him delaying the fight was so he could cycle off of everything in time. That's interesting. Everyone knows Jacobs does PEDs anyway.
