Sixth of July in Anaheim. 10 rounds at super middleweight. Co-main event to a rematch of sorts between Nathan Donald Díaz and Jorge Masvidal (who fought each other in the UFC five years ago, but have now both crossed into pro boxing).
Obviously prime for prime this is a gross mismatch, but SMJ is on kind of a roll and DJ will be coming off a loss to Ryder and 2½ years on the shelf - factors which actually make this kind of interesting.
I'm gonna go with "Sweet and Low" Shane Mosley by UD. I'm literally basing this off of absolutely nothing other than the fact that since 2020 I think Danny has only fought once (Ryder?) and Shane's son has become a semi quality journeymen and at least fought like 7-8 times. I think he's physically bigger than Danny and being younger maybe....................has more than enough to beat a semi retired guy.
Last time Jacobs won a fight was in 2020 against Gabe Rosado. And he arguably lost that one. Jacobs had an excellent run from 2015 to 2019, completely fell off after that. Inactivity killed his career.
Not a bad fight honestly, I think it adds some pizzazz to the whole card in general. I got Mosley Jr by UD.
This one at least is more of a classic "is the greater fighter shot enough for the younger mediocre one to have a chance?" type of crossroads fight. Díaz vs. Masvidal under boxing rules in 2024 is just pure train-wreck appeal.
