NO WAY Matsuomoto won more than two rounds here so far. I can not see him landing as clean as Roman and as heavy as Roman. He was rocked a couple of times now and Roman is looking more active, fresher and definitely more dangerous all the time.

    Round 10

Román is catching the challenger's 1-2 on his mitts, waiting until he starts retracting his arms to blast away on the rib cage with hooks leaping inside with a push off the ball of either foot. Román pins Matsumoto against the ropes and they flail at each other up close. Matsumoto staves Román off with a couple of hard right hands lanced into the skull from mid-range but Román is able to duck his way through and crack Matsumoto with a jab/overhand combo at point blank. Matsumoto flicks a jab-feint, getting Román to react by stepping right. Matsumoto lines him up in his sights and whips a 1-2 into his nose.

    10-9 Román, very close

    99-91 Román

    Round 11

Román is driving the lead hook into the belly and getting snatched and tossed away by the waiting Matsumoto. Quiet round considering we have entered the desperation zone, the last couple of frames of the championship distance. Make that a slow boil - as they spent a solid minute circling away from each other pawing with pot shot jabs but started throwing spitefully with a little under a minute left. Clean fight, some of Román's hooks wrapping around Matsumoto's torso and causing brief clinches the ref is quick to break up. Román is tomahawking Matsumoto in the side of the neck with right hands while propelling himself into the air.

    Round 12

Román is setting the pace, MUCH faster than in the eleventh, brutal shots by Román all over Matsumoto's body. Matsumoto jabbing him away, then leans in exhausted to clinch. Light warning from the ref. Román is absolutely clobbering the body with both hands. Matsumoto uses both hands on Román's shoulders to simply push him away, beyond range. BIG left hook connects for Román, firing past the pushing left arm of Matsumoto, right on the bottom of the jaw, Matsumoto's knees going weak for a moment. Admirably, he recovers and starts to jab and tie up. Román will not be denied, however, looking to close the show. BIG overhand rights inside by Román. Matsumoto doing his best, hanging in the pocket and dueling with Román using the 1-2 as his primary weapon but only really landing the soft jab, the cross flying over Román's head. Big clawing right by Román at the bell.
