Was a little further behind than you guys, I had it 10-2 Roman, that was a decent little fight card.

...get Danny Román on HBO already.

Forget about Super Fly, let's make Super Bantam the new glamour division!

Vargas, Magdaleno, Dogboe, Tapales, Iwasa, Román, DDLH, Navarrete, Caballero... hot dog! That sausage is stuffed tight. When the likes of Shingo Wake, Cesar Juarez, Ronny Rios and Tomoki Kameda are your second string, you know you have a deep division.

Time for a radically wombattical sabbatical.

I'm watching all the Raw's, Nitro's & WWE/WCW PPV's from the time Nitro started. Good times, I've worked my way through 10 months of programming so far. God bless the WWE Network :rocker:

Román actually had a string of mostly pretty nice wins even before capturing the WBA belt (prior to Kubo, his best scalps were SD Kid Martin by dominant shutout and 16-0 Texan prospect Adam Lopez) and his only two defeats were close decisions at the hands of Takashi Okada (who retired in 2013, making a rematch impossible) - the same guy that popped McWilliams Arroyo's cherry, and Juan Reyes (whom Danny's buddy Isaac Zárate got revenge on, cutting Reyes up in his very next fight, a bloody 8-round draw). In the four years since he's 16-0 (6) and barely ever losing a round. Thompson Promotions has done a great job bringing him along.

Growing pains. The kind of losses that make you better.

Now they need to get him on Showtime, HBO or ESPN the kid has a exciting style that should be seen by more than 325 fans and friends max. His fight against Lopez (the fight I discovered him) was on ShowBox and it was a dominant performance. Lopez was the undefeated prospect(also a Ronnie Shields fighter), and who ShoBox was pushing, but they came around on Roman real quick. It was his title eliminator, and they haven't had him back. Granted he has only fought in Japan since then, so hopefully he'll fight again in the states soon after his first successful title defense and TBP can get his next defense on American television.

Danny is becoming a huge star in Japan, after making two consecutive trips over there (plus his first career defeat was a war against Takashi Okada, whom the Japanese fans always followed despite most of his fights taking place in N. America)

Maybe turning into the biggest foreign-born guy in the sport over there next to Jorge Linares.

Interesting to see how many other Japanese options are out there for him (Otake, Wake, Kuga, Iwasa in a unification, Tomoki Kameda) if he wants to return again...potentially Maruta or Tamura in a year or two as well

How long before the Japanese start to have success against Mexican fighters again? It's been a pretty brutal week for them.
