Card update: there were originally 7 bouts in support of the main event. One, supposed to have been the show opener, has been canceled in just the last few hours (Yusaku Oshima vs. Shin Hirano, 4 rounds @ bantamweight).

Of the six remaining, half already have results updated on the BoxRec event page.

Tetsuya Kondo improved to 1-1 by knocking out debuting Akihiro Fukuda in 2, in a super featherweight contest taking over for Oshima vs. Hirano at the bottom of the bill.

Kazunori Yorimasa fought to a majority draw in a 4-rounder with Takashi Hisano at flyweight.

Peter Quaye, a Ghanaian journeyman based in Japan, scored a minor upset over Yuichi Ideta, a 33 year old Tokyoite returning from a 4-year layoff, taking a majority decision in a 6-rounder at light welterweight.

Scheduled after Quaye vs. Ideta was supposed to be Tsuyoshi Tameda in a super featherweight 8-rounder vs. TBA, but I suspect that one might be canceled too as they probably never found him an opponent. If you search for his name in Kanji on Twitter, nothing comes up within the last 24 hours - so unless he literally has zero fan base and/or he's literally putting everybody at Korakuen Hall to sleep right now, he probably isn't on the card.

That means we have a pair of 8-rounders between us and the main event, the first of which may already be in progress. Seiichi Okada is participating in one, and has a decent sized following with many Korakuen Hall appearances under his belt (despite hailing from Kanagawa prefecture, not Tokyo) so updates should be easy to come by on social media.

Never mind, just saw BP's posts on the first page - you sure Tameda is still going on? How'd you know his opponent is Thai? Do you know their name?

According to Josc, the JBC and Boxmob, there's been no cancellations.

    The running order was always
    Kondo Vs Fukuda First
    Yorimasa Vs Hisano
    Peter Vs Ideta
    Okada vs Miyamoto
Tameda Vs Thai (name given is Delliya Kramer Wong but that's Thai transcribed into Japanese into English so expect actual name to be different, apparently a debutant)
    Hiraoka Vs Kimura
    Roman Vs Matsumoto

    All fighters weighed in http://www.jbc.or.jp/rls/card/2018022801.pdf

Hisano got a late opponent change, then, as of last night it was listed as Yusaku Oshima (then again, it was BoxRec and they're frequently inaccurate...and they currently don't even list Hisano as on the card...)

Trust me, not Boxrec ;). Not one of the 3 Japanese sources seems to have ever listed the bout (they usually put an x next to a cancelled bout and leave it listed)

    35yo with only a 43% stoppage rate, taking out a 24yo with a 5-1 (4) record, nice.

Okado WAS a pretty good fighter in his heydey, former Japanese Supe Featherweight champion. wins over Rikiya Fukuhara, Koji Umetso, Hiroyasu Matsuzaki. Went the distance with Miura in a Japanese title fight, was stopped by Daiki Kaneko (no shame in either of those). A horrible run after the Kaneko fight, being stopped by Sanabria, Yuta Matsuda, Nery Saguilan, but looks to be having a bit of an indian summer now

Damn...now I wish this card were being transmitted on a TV channel and included the undercard. Would've liked to cheer on Seiichi as he notched his first meaningful KO since Hero Bando.

Okada, if you've never seen him, fought a tidy war against Nery "Pantera" Saguilán in 2014...was stopped in the eighth on a massive left hook but had put on steadfast & strong pressure before that. He also held Takashi Miura to a split decision in a loss way back in 2010 for the Japanese featherweight title.

 An editor at BoxRec must've been reading my thread and gotten self-conscious from BP's and my posts; they've cleaned up the event page and even added the mystery Thai on there. Detriya Kramulwong, 0-0-0.
