Daniel Rosas vs. Fernando Vargas & Rodrigo Guerrero vs. Juan Carlos Sanchez Jr. RBR

I really don't feel like switching over to the WBC card to watch female boxing.

 

OK, Sanchez Jr. is in the ring.

Weird tale of the tape graphic. Instead of showing their height and reach under their age and weight, they show a list of the current titlists at 115: Shimizu, Chokchai, and Narvaez.

 

Here comes Rodrigo "The Cat" Guerrero, in a turquoise robe with the hood up.

 

Round 1

Sanchez circles to his right and put out his right jab. Guerrero reaches up at the champ with his own jab. Sanchez is moving and jabbing, keeping distance. Guerrero throws some right hooks to the body but doesn't reach. Sanchez steps in with a jab, and starts to flurry but backs away as Guerrero tries to hook at the body. Guerrero is very busy coming forward throwing lots of punches but not landing.

10-9 Sanchez, not much in the round but scored with his jab and defended.

 

Round 2

Sanchez moves and jabs as Guerrerotries to nail him to the ropes with left hooks to the body and right hands up top, now fighting orthodox. Sanchez lands a stiff right jab while moving laterally and snaps Guerrero's head back. Sanchez dances around, left then right. Left to the body reaching in by Sanchez. Guerrerowalks forward and throws a high combo. Clinch. Uppercuts from the hips by Guerrero. Sanchez circles back out of the way and lines up a good straight left hand. Combo by Sanchez darting in. Now Sanchez dances to his left, breaking into a trot. Double right jab by Sanchez, ducking back against the ropes as Guerrero comes hooking away at him and missing.

Round 3

Sanchez circles right and jabs. Guerrero is sticking with orthodox, thrusting out the left jab. Sanchez takes a right uppercut at the top its arc while circling by with his hands low. Sanchez leans in on a bent front knee with a right hook, and Guerrero stabs at him with a right jab after sneakily reverting to southpaw. Guerrero really does that switching seamlessly, it's hard to keep track of. Sanchez pumps some right jabs into Guerrero's face from outside. Guerrero leaps into him with a right hook, blocked. Sanchez jabs and moves to his right, and hooks Guerrero in the ribs while squatting down. More movement by Sanchez, stopping on a dime and swerving away from the ropes in a crouch. Ole!

Round 4

Sanchez keeps his right jab zipping out as he circles, and puts in a few low straight lefts to the body. Guerrero is switching stances and coming forward but not landing much of anything, just swiping at Sanchez's midsection from too far away. 1-2 by Sanchez, before backing out. Long right jab to the belly by Sanchez. Guerrerotries to slap him with a right up close but Sanchez floats away.

Round 5

Sanchez jabs to the face and stomach, moving right and leaving plenty of room between them. Guerrerotries to flip up some body shots, but is parried by Sanchez's outheld right. High head shots by Guerrero get him countered by the chiseling right jab as Sanchez hops around. Body shots leaning in by Sanchez, exposing the back of his head. Body shots by Guerrero, wide and missing. Sanchez is dancing all around, popping his right jab from up on his toes. Lead left by Sanchez circling to the left now. Sanchez kicks his feet up as he skips around, making Guerrero chase after him. Ineffective whacks at the body by Guerrero. Sanchez dances around and makes him miss or moves his head to slip shots.
