Williams' team is the one making the offer. They're the ones handing out the money. Meanwhile, Margo is begging for a handout from Oscar. I don't see how you could down Williams for wanting to fight the divison's top guy, but excuse Margo begging to fight an aging fighter who doesn't even fight in a real divsion and has no interest in Margo.

Look Floyd was all for a rematch with DLH nobody had problems there then Floyd retired and decided not to fight, okay so whats that leave Oscar? and being that most fighters like Floyd and Oscar are in this for the MONEY, a fighter in Margarito deserves the right to grab a big payday while its still there, Williams can sizzle for a bit that is fine, infact he should fight Clottey or Berto and start to unify, Margarito has waited long enough to start making some BIG money and honestly he has earned it.
Just becuase he lost to Williams doesnt mean that he hadnt earned it he still fought the man, then knocked out Johnson and Cintron and Cotto, so in terms of what Tony has done lately he is far more deserving of a big DLH payday, and Williams well there is still some doubt about him, though he did knock out Quintana in the rematch, he was still dominated by him in their first bout and people tend to still remember that fight a tad bit more than they do the knock out win.
I dont know why but thats just the way it is, Margarito vs De La Hoya, come on now who does not want to see Oscar get knocked out??? becuase that IMO is what this fight will bring us.

Williams has no chance at getting a Oscar fight and if he does, do you think Oscar would give him more than 2 million? That would be a career high payday.

If Margarito wanted money, he would fight Paul williams for that 4 million, which is more than double his career payday and gives him a shot a being the WW champ.

Fact is if Margo was all about the money and really wanted to get paid he would have already signed the bout against Paul.

Bull****, everyone complained about that fight. You're straight up lying if you say nobody had a problem with the rematch.

    Apprantly, Serio Mora

The problem is, the payday isn't there. I have no problem with Margo trying to fight Hoya. The problem I have is with hypocritical Margo fans who put down Williams for trying to fight the best while excusing Margo for chasing money fights that aren't there.

People need to stop with this "Margo has earned it" ****. It doesn't matter what he supposedly earned. Hoya doesn't want to fight him, and if Hoya doesn't want to fight him the fight won't happen. Back to Williams. He can't fight Berto until next year at the earliest because Berto has a fight scheduled for late September. That leaves Clottey and Margo. Margo is considered the top guy in the division, and Margo already beat Clottey. Why the hell should Williams go after Clottey when Margo is free?

He can go on deserving all he wants. Hoya is not going to fight him just because Margo fans claim he deserves the payday.

Please tell me you're not implying that Williams hasn't earned another fight with Margo.

To me it's a meaningless fight. I can understand Margo fans wanting to see him in a big fight. However, I'm not a big fan of either fighter. Hoya is about to retire and doesn't even fight in a real division anymore. I've already seen my favorite fighter(Hopkins) stop Hoya. I couldn't care less if Margo does the same. It's funny how Margo fans were all saying Hoya was washed up, a part time fighter, and needed to retire when he wanted to fight the likes of Mayweather and Hatton. Now that Margo wants to fight him, Hoya becomes important again.

you are thumbs upping that he is begging for a handout, when Dela said he would fight the winner of Margo/ Cotto?

Dela has ONE LAST FIGHT..if he said he would fight me too( the winner) I WOULD TRY TO GET HIM IN THE RING ALSO...

here some highlights of the fight... Santos has been calling out Margarito for a while esp. since he gaved him two opportunities when he was champ... his akward style has limited him to earn those big fights...

Then why are you saying it's okay for him to fight DLH? He earned it?
