Núñez is starting to bully Scardina from pillar to post. Trudging forward, the Spaniard piles in body shots as Scardina manically scissors his legs and pushes out desperate jab pairs in retreat. A few slapping hooks and rights upside the head by Scardina, but still getting pushed where the ring general Núñez wants him and touched with both straps on the body and rising hooks from crouches as Núñez sneaks in just below his chest.

Round 5

Núñez is putting suffocating pressure on Scardina but unable to thread the needle with too much clean punching upstairs. Scardina is able to turn him in the pocket and make him miss some bottle rocket shots at close range while pushing away with the jab. Scardina now switching directions, flopping in a right hand on the scalp as he cuts diagonally in and counter-clockwise. Núñez pinching his wrists together and trapping some of Scardina's jabs while coming forward.

Round 6

Núñez is seeing all his jabs clapped down by Scardina's gloves, and only getting touches with looping rights off the hip and thigh. Scardina then begins to come unglued defensively, perhaps an injury as surmised by the commentators, and Núñez comes on with some bombs. Núñez chases for the last minute or two, aggressively backhanding jabs into the stomach and then belting up top with rights. Scardina exchanging hooks with Núñez in the center of the ring, both tired.
