Prodan stalking, Cristofori running and throwing pot shot right jabs or the occasional long rowing left. Prodan waiting for clean opportunities, so not throwing much, but when he does he buzzes Cristofori - especially with a left hook just before the bell.

10-9 Prodan

 

Neither man has fought since 2019. Prodan had two good victories that year (over Steve Jamoye and Tony Dixon) and one tomato can tuneup. Cristofori got stopped in 5 in a bid for the same Italian welterweight title we just saw Esposito and Loriga battle over.

 

Come on Prodan. I've got laundry to do. Get this over with and bang this runner out so we can get on with the main event.

 

Can't say I'm enjoying this. Cristofori's style might see him safely to a decision loss, making Prodan look poor, but I doubt it can get him the upset - and they're just clashing badly, aesthetically.

 

Prodan almost intentionally seeking out right jabs with his face.

He needs to settle down and do more thoughtful work.

 

...okay, I take it back, Cristofori might actually pot shot his way to an upset if the judges don't favor the ineffective aggressor. (and he doesn't gas)

 

Never mind, Prodan finally caught him; bopped him atop the head and plunked him down.

10-8 Prodan, who now has the whole second half to finish this with a psychological advantage with both knowing he can get to his prey.

 

David Avanesyan would mangle all four of the welterweights featured in this bout & the previous one, inside a few rounds.
