A week from tomorrow. The vacant EBU super middleweight title will be at stake.

Standing two inches below the local favorite at 5′ 10½″, the visiting Spaniard has faced the superior competition thus far but has also unerringly been knocked out by them (Vincent Feigenbutz and Edgar Berlanga). Scardina, whose KO percentage at one point was a robust 93% (and now has dropped to 77), will be seeking his first stoppag victory since 2018 after three consecutive UD ten-rounders in his capture and pair of defenses of the IBF super middle international title.

Pretty stacked card actually, for a domestic Italian show anyway. Both the IBF welter and feather international belts will be on the line in the co-features (Maxim Prodan vs. Nicola Cristofori and Francesco Grandelli vs. Davide Tassi, respectively) and on the undercard, 43 year old iron man Tobia Giuseppe Loriga makes a second defense in his second career reign as welterweight champion of Italy, versus unbeaten Nicholas Esposito, 17 years his junior.

The home and visiting fighter weighed in at 166.4 and 167.3 (75.5 and 75.9kg) respectively.

Scardina should win inside the distance.

    1. Nunez isn't a guy who reacts well to punches. If he gets hit, sometimes he's freezing and just covering up and you have a great chance to unload.

    2. He was stopped, dropped and rocked several times during his career, even by some lower level guys.

    3. His cardio isn't great as well.

    4. He's probably more a Middleweight size-wise. I expect Scardina to look much bigger tomorrow and i also think he will have decent weight advantage comes fight night.

    5. Scardina isn't the biggest puncher as we learned in his last few fights but i think they picked Nunez for a reason here. You don't pick a guy who is 1-2-1 in his last four fights to fight for the European title because of his recent performances. You pick him because you want to make the home guy look good in a bounce back performance after two relatively dull performances in a row.

Thanks for chipping in, @f1ght3rz ...once upon a time a thread on a fight like this would've gotten more than just one reply in a week. Not a lot more than one, mind you.. :sisi1 but even a vacant Euro title bout with some domestic level Italian scraps in chief support would've caught the attention of guys like @Somachenko and @Nonito Smoak at least. Now probably nobody cares outside you and maybe @Chuck Norris

We have a lot of great fights these days and very good matchups so i guess these Big hometown favs against lower level underdogs on the European scene are not really catching peoples attention. I'll probably still watch it tomorrow. At least the main event.

I might be most excited to see what Loriga has left handling a young lion.
