Fair enough, but let's not forget Merchant has done his share of antagonizing fighters as well. He seemed to play favorites, and was pretty clear haha. Merchants pretty cool though.

Danny Garcia has always been a humble guy, I've been closely following his fights ever since the first Morales bout. He always shows respect to his opponents and is a boxing aficionado. He truly loves the sport of boxing and when not building up a fight, he's one of the nicest, most well spoken boxers out there.

I think you people don't like him due to the confidence he exhibits. In his mind he thinks he's undefeated, although we all know he isn't. That's what boxers do, they need that confidence to maintain the desire to compete in the grueling sport of boxing at the top level, of course he's gonna claim he's the best and undefeated.

I'll reverse the question, why do you think he isn't humble? Why do you hate Danny Garcia? Was it something his pops said?

I despised Merchant too, every bit as bad as Gray. If anything, even more pompous, because he felt entitled talking down to fighters because he was some hack writer (overrated in his time, with a few awards that went to his head and made him a legend in his own mind) back in the day.

Gray is just a pencil necked geek who thinks he's in the trenches doing "good journalism" with all these dangerous barbarians in a bloodsport. You can almost sort of respect his perspective just because of how sheltered and self-deluded it is. Merchant was just a straight up arrogant cock who fancied himself a brilliant wordsmith (he wasn't) and guru of prizefighting wisdom (he wasn't).

I prefer Kellerman to either, but ideally would like someone like Bernstein in there.

Toney is my dude. Lol. No one can replicate James as a boxer or his persona. I can’t answer the question as to why I give James a pass for being a d*ck but when guys like Broner and Floyd do it I cringe. To me there’s a skill and quality James has talking trash and being flamboyant that comes off real...For AB and Mayweather it just seems phony and corny.

Fair, hm you must really love Joe Rogan then. He's the exact opposite of Merchant and Gray.

    Respectful

Please lol. Hes not some huge name. Hes a mid tier star in the game. And no amount of fame warrants fights like the ones hes recieved. And he just doesnt recieve them... he relishes them. And he gloats about it. You think sitting back gloating about knocking out shamelessly overmatched fighters while eating cherries with his dad, is humble? Really?

Oh whoa he knocked out the corpse of Rios lol... incredible stuff! He should have been embarrassed to even be offered that fight.

What more do I want from him? How about... not picking brain damaged fighters who havent had a significant win in years, as opponents... that could be a start.

If you dont see how gloating that you cherry pick while you eat cherries with your dad and then gloat on how you are going to knock out the next corpse they drag up for you can lead someone into wanting to see that individual lose, I dont know what else to tell you.

He's fought the top guy in each weight class he's competed in. You people just want to see Danny get knocked out, it's understandable. He comes to fight each time, gets beat up a lot during fights and needs a break. The MAtthyse and Judah fights were extremely grueling fights for Danny, took a lot out of him, then he fights Herrera in which he lost, then needed showcase fights to rest his body and rebuild confidence. He fought Peterson after and got beat up again, then tried to rebuild in a new weight class. The Thurman fight was another grueling 12 round fight for both guys in which Thurman might of been on roids. Why wouldn't he go after showcase fighters to maximize the amount of money he's gonna make between super fights? Isn't that what every champion in history has done?

I mean, not that big a mystery dude. Toney was a real life gangster before he took up boxing. Like a legit, actual gun-toting drug-peddling street thug in his teens.

Mayweather grew up middle-class with a father and two uncles that had been pro boxers of varying degrees of success, all of them doing well enough to have fought in multiple nationally televised bouts and then all going on to do okay as coaches to extend their flow of income from the sport after their careers ended. His upbringing wasn't perfect to be certain but he didn't come up in the same kind of circumstances as Toney, either.

    Broner is just a poseur.

Eh, I found the Kovalev vs. Stevenson and Fury vs. Wilder confrontations annoying too, but at the end of the day they're just another marketing tool, I've learned to live with them.

Gray acting like it was unheard of for a prospective future opponent to enter the ring to get in the face of a guy during his victory interview was just ridiculous though. Like he couldn't believe what he was seeing. Guy acts like he comes from another planet.

I dunno man, sounds like Haterade from you. If Garcia's opposition, especially for just "a mid tier star in the game," makes you that nauseous then there can't be more than a few handful if that of fighters who don't. I agree with what you're saying just if you weren't multiplying the magnification to such an extreme that it becomes more laughable than the previously laughable statement you are responding to.

You can throw very epithet imaginable at me, pretend like you know me, but in the end, you're a massive fan of Danny Garcia's. And that alone speaks volumes about you and your character. How embarrassing.

At least the Fury Wilder call out was back and forth and they took turns talking. This one tonight just got lame and loud, fast.

That's because The old guy with a microphone doesn't know what makes for good TV. Porter is a very fan friendly fighter with a good fanbase behind him. Why wouldn't the network want to build hype behind that fight?
