He has a name and a respectable fan base and pulls huge ratings when he fights, one of the highest amongst Al Haymon fighters. Of course he's not a huge house hold name like A Floyd, Manny, Cotto or even Chavez Jr, but he is a name fighter who fought some of the most popular named fighters around the world in his weight range, you simply cannot deny that. The fight he had with MAtthyse in the Mayweather/Alvarez undercard also boosted his status with casuals that's why he always headlines a card.

Also, what fights are you talking about? He had 3 back to back grueling fights with Judah, Matthyse and Herrera where he received a lot of punishment. Fights like these take a lot out of fighter, that's why he fought Salka next in a non titled bout. After the Salka fight, he fought Peterson... and although he won the bout, he was drained and frankly looked bad and got beat up. He then fights Paulie Malignaggi, a named fighter to build his confidence then proceeds to fight the next rated contender for the WBC belt in Guerrero. Khan was the number one rated fighter, but he choose to fight Canelo instead, so Guerrero was the next choice. You can even go back and follow what was going on at that time, the Garcia-KHan rematch was supposed to happen for the 147 pound green belt, but Khan backed down. As for why Guerrero was the next rated fighter in the rankings, blame the WBC for always having a Mexican on top of their ratings instead of blaming Garcia. Khan didn't want the fight, so wtf did you expect him to do? Same **** happened with GGG and the WBC, he literally fought a shot Rubio to "earn" the green belt cause he was the number 1 rated fighter in their rankings.

Garcia then agrees to fight Thurman in a unification bout and loses in another grueling fight. In his first bout since that super fight, he goes on to fight another named fighter in Rios in a tune up after not fighting in nearly a YEAR to shake off some rust, then does his job and is the only man to knock out Rios with head shots. Say what you want about Rios, but he was clearly motivated for this fight unlike the fireman Bradley fight which he got knocked out by body punches due to being nearly 200 pounds in preparation for that fight. He still had a chin, came to fight and knocked out. Even so, you guys are still bitching anyway.

Of course I'm a fan of Garcia, I'm not biased though like you clowns. You can go back and see my post history, I'm not a biased guy at all when it concerns boxing. I score it as fair as possible and critique fights how I see it. I legit don't hate any boxer, except for that racist clown Bernard Hopkins. You seem to have a hard on hating on boxers though, and sometimes for no reason. I believe I seen you say that you hated a couple boxers simply because of the way they look and no other reason at all. That's ****ing stupid, seriously.

You're right though, I don't know you. But you seem like a cry baby ***** to me, you cry and throw a ***** fit every time a fighter you like loses or the fighter you hate wins, that's what's truly embarrassing. It's childish, grow the **** up, it's not that serious guy. Plus you spend your life here, that's a fact. Get some ***** and go outside bro, you're literally upset because I'm a fan of a boxer LMFAO. What a dick head.

I agree he has needed some breaks because some fights have been harder than they should have been. He fought Matthysse then only fought guys he was supposed to beat until Thurman many years later. The fights that were supposed to be easy-ish cherry picks turned out to be harder than expected so it looks bad. If you accept him for what he is (not that good) then his career isn't so bad but if you had high expectations (like some did) then he has been a bit of a disappointment.

Fought fights he was supposed to win up until Khan (mainly due to Khan being over-rated). Fights Khan, fair enough. Fights Matthysse not too long after, fair enough. Then goes 3 and a half years fighting guys he's expected to beat, under performs, arguably gets some gift decisions, eventually fights Thurman and get's beat. That's the main problem. Has been unimpressive since Matthysse which was 4 and a half years ago. Has only fought one really impressive opponent since 2013 and he lost that fight. His level of opposition and breaks between fights makes it seem like he's just taking the **** out of fans. I get the feeling most general boxing fans have more respect for someone like Rios who gives it his all and will fight anyone than for Garcia who just seems like he's taking the fans for a ride to make some money.

I can see why he and his family do it though. Boxing is a dangerous sport and you don't want to end up like Rios and Angel Garcia who both seem a bit damaged.

Can we agree that Danny has had 3 grueling fights in a row with Judah, Matthyse in Herrrera in which he received a lot of punishment in the span of 1 year? Can we also agree that Garcia lost embarrassingly against Herrera in Puerto Rico which was supposed to be his breakout fight for Puerto Rican fans after his career defining victory against Matthyse? That fight was so embarrassing for Danny that he got laughed at and booed by the Rican fans in the audience. HUGE confidence loss and his last 140 pound title fight. So he tries to rebuild himself in a new weight class just like a lot of fighters before him have done. Can we also agree that Khan/Garcia 2 was supposed to happen for the vacant green belt after Floyd retired? Khan fights Canelo and Guerrero is next in line. After he won the belt, he has stay busy fight in Philly to get ready for his unification with a roided up Thurman in a close fight.

Also, I disagree about Khan being overrated at 140. He was the man in the division at the time and had a string of world class victories(including Peterson which was a robbery) and confidence at an all time high. This was Roach Khan, KHan at his peak. After that, Khan became a part time boxer and was never the same again.

Agree with most of what you say but you ruin it by accusing Thurman of being roided. He's a naturally bigger, plus faster guy with good movement, he always beats Garcia.

Also no Khan was over rated. He obviously had his strengths but he always had his chin issues and Garcia was not the first person to stop him. In fact Prescott did it much quicker.

Horn wouldn’t have been able to take the shot Rios landed on Garcia I would pick Rios to stop Horn in the 8th round Horn doesn’t Have the fire power to hurt Rios.

The Thurman being roided was an inside joke, there were a couple threads which showed minimal evidence that claimed that Thurman was on roids and is using this year lay off to cycle it all off. Obviously there's no concrete proof, but that's why I said it.

Khan was not overrated at 140, especially while with Roach. Between the Prescott loss which was at 135 to the Garcia loss at 140, he had wins over Kotelkin(who arguably beat Alexander in his next fight), a unification over a still game Judah, Malignaggi, Marcos Maidana and Peterson, all top 5 JWW's at the time Khan beat them. We can only judge a fighter by how good he is in the weight class he competed in, and Khan was clearly the top dog at the time Garcia knocked him out.

I'm not angry in the least, no one is throwing a hissy fit, I was expecting that result, no one is taking it that seriously, I was merely having a repulsed reaction to all the sleazebag Garcia fanboys acting like giddy schoolgirls because he KO'd a guy who was tailor made for him. I don't give a **** if you're a fan of his or not, nor do I give a **** about you. You asked a question, I answered it. When I comment on a message board, should I be boring? Have no opinion? Pretend to be above the fray and have no emotional response to anything like all you postmodern douchebags in this generation? I speak my mind, and yes I speak it with a little more drama than most of you, maybe because I'm not an automaton? Good for me, I wish more people would acknowledge being a fan of something instead of being some too cool for the room hipster, if you think you're too cool for a Boxing Forum, then leave.
