Guy fought from middleweight all the way to heavy and was never stopped even though he lost 45 fights and only had 12 wins, with 4 knockouts. Guy had NO power and was one of the six fighters to go the distance with Shannon Briggs in his 16 year career. And this was before Shannon gassed in a few rounds from steroid abuse and being 270 pounds. Blake also lost a SD to Tillis, and lost to Henry Tillman. I see Toney, a defensive mastar, brought up in ATG chin discussions but I've never so much as seen Blake's name mentioned when he also fought from middleweight to heavyweight as well and was obviously a crap fighter. Anyone seen him fight? http://www.boxrec.com/list_bouts.php?human_id=5236&cat=boxer
Never heard of him to be honest Russell. I see he also went the distance with Jeff Lampkin, who was a cruiser with good power. Did you see him fight?
No, never. And I doubt I will considering how obscure he is. Remember Lenny LaPaglia? "The Rage"?. Cruiserweight that Hearn's beat for the WBU Cruiseweight title. Had 33 knockouts in 36 wins. Blake knocked him out back to back, which is pretty impressive considering the quality of fighter Blake is.
Blake beat Lapaglia (twice) right after Lapaglia lost to John Collins. I remember that fight being built up for a little while in Chicago as a hometown Irish - Italian war. Lapaglia went 10 rounds with very capable Doug Dewitt, so those knockouts are pretty good results for Blake.
Johnny Risko lost 53 times only stopped 3 times and thank 2 of those at the very end of his career and its said Tunney Broke both his hands on Risko's head
