They didn't even start serious negotiations for this fight until the Mayweather fight was done. Now they're trying to work out the date and location. They wanted September 7th, but Top Rank has that date for Chavez Jr. With the Bradley/Marquez fight being moved to October, the Chavez fight might get changed to October as well. Anyway, Gracia/Matthysse will be happening this fall.

I find it humorous when keyboard warriors say a prize fighter is afraid to fight another prize fighter. They must feel stupid when the fight gets signed.

This. Love them or hate them I don't think there is any top-level boxer who is afraid of fighting any other boxer at this point.

That goes for Garcia, Lucas, Floyd, Pacquiao, Wlad, Martinez, Ward, or any of the top contenders in their divisions. They're not afraid of making a living getting punched in the face, they sure as hell aren't afraid of each other.

Looking at this case specifically: Garcia has faced all comers at 140 from Khan, Judah, Morales, Campbell, and Holt. He's not afraid of Lucas. I doubt he's afraid of anyone.
