Im not denying that Danny did well but him going up to 147 is a big mistake and you will see those guys are no jokes.

Strange move if you ask me but fair play to Danny Swift for opting to mix it with the big guys. That 0 will be gone within 3 fights at 147 though.

Everyone said it would be a big mistake for him to fight Khan/Matthysse

The kid rises to the occasion everytime.

He will do well @ 47, don't worry about him.

Why should he stay at 40, he cleaned that division out already. :yep

And to be frank, the paydays there are utter ****.

if Danny was to go up to 147 today I don't see anyone he could beat anyone at all probably Paulie but he might retire maybe also Maidana but that's about it the rest will beat him

    Well that's your opinion.

    Meaningless to him.

He wants to be great, let the man be great.

Him staying at 140 beating the same crop of fighters isn't going to give him good paydays, allow him to ascend superstardom.

He wants to be the next big star. And him beating up top 147 fighters will do that for him.

    He wants to prove himself.

I think it's the perfect time tbh. He's been in 1 weight class for close to 8 years now and he probably can't make the weight that comfortably anymore. Moving to 147 will show us another dimension in his boxing game. I want to see how he does with the big punchers in that weight class.

I want to see how he does with the boxers there as well.

His career is getting more and more exciting.

I suppose you right it will be the next big test for Danny the thing with most of the guys in 147 is they are big punches and they can box really well it will also be interesting to see if Dannys power will be of effect at 147.

None of that matthysse **** has to do with ruslan. That's what we do now??? No point in fighting this guy cuz he beat that guy? Who gave Herrera a chance? Stop cheerleading. Fact is there's another champ at 140 who garcia sr talked **** about who is NOT under contract with top rank

There's not a top 5 guy at welter that danny beats. Your hero is little more than average.

    We'll see.

He sure as hell cleaned 140 out pretty convincingly.

    Toodles Matthysse. :blurp

Put him in with thurman. Hype job vs hype job. Thurman way to big n strong for danny to handle tho.

I think people are focused on the disadvantage's Danny will have fighting bigger opponents but he will gain some too. He doesn't depend on speed so no loss there, added weight will surely translate into added power. I've never seen a hint of stamina issue from him so he will probably be good there. And I don't believe he'll ever take a shot 147 like the one he took from Lucas. Only question for me is whether he could continually handle storms from 147 guys to get to them/not keep him off.

Convincingly? He got beat by Herrera! Almost lost to zab. Went to war with a fat old featherweight. And ruslan is still there.
