I dont think so. Brook would outbox the hell out of Garcia . But he wont stop him. DSG appears to have a very solid chin and has never been visibly hurt before in a boxing match. Lets be honest Brook is not much of a puncher at 147. That might be a result of him draining himself to make the WW limit. He could very likely have more pop at 154 given he's a natural 154 pounder but thats another topic... This fight would look just like the Herrera fight but Garcia would look alot more overmatched against Brook.
I do agree Brook beats Garcia. But, Garcia wouldn't fight Brook, Team Garcia spoke to Hearn and wanted to fight Sam Eggington
Nah, if Brook does manage to make it down to 147, he's just gonna get beat up by Spence unless he relinquishes his title. 2 beatings in a row plus being weight drained, no way Danny gets credit beating him.
Brook should not be fighting DSG next because he has no business at 147 anymore. I was speaking hypothetical as if this fight would have taken place a year ago. Brook loses to Errol Spence at 154 or 147 btw Doesnt matter which weight class. Spence is too much for any fighter from 140-154 .
Lol who has spence beaten that makes you guys think that he's too much for any fighter from 140-154? I thought you guys used resumes to determine how good a fighter is
Yes, I know what unified means, but I also know what "unifying a division" means, and that's used for having brought all the belts together, which clearly he didn't. Tyson did unify a division, Lennox did unify a division, Hopkins did unify a division, Golovkin is trying to unify a division... Gracia only had two belts. That's unifying belts, not a division, Politics and such are the hardest to get past when you try to really unify. That doesn't mean that it counts if you just tried. Glad you like it, because it's the common opinion of most of the people that have seen that fight. I really dislike that ped cheat Peterson and was actually rooting for Garcia, but I just couldn't give him that fight. Just like the Herrera one. I don't care how you saw it, I care how I saw it, and the majority of the people scoring it. Yes, and I'm very sure he's going to lose, because after the Matthysse war Garcia clearly lost a step and had to live of cherrypicks and gift decisions. Now he's up to welter and got the shell of Guerrero for a vacant belt. He didn't even do much better as Peralta.
The WW Division is now a lot tougher than the Jr.WW one. Danny can't dominate it and he will get beaten soon.
I was sure Mattthysse would beat him silly but Danny took the will and heart out of him in that fight for sure.
A lot of people did, but like I told people at the scene Garcia was going to come through and put out his best performance to date , And I was right!!
You clearly don't know what a unified champion is, you're mixing it up with an undisputed champion, there's clearly a difference. When in blue hell has any undisputed champ in history been called just the "unified" champ? Mike Tyson and Leon Spinks were fighting for the undisputed title and Mike became known as the undisputed champion until he lost to Douglas, then Holyfield became the undisputed champion until he lost to Bowe. The title got broken up since Bowe didn't fight Lewis, so then Bowe and Holyfield fought for the unified/lineal titles and that title has been passed down until the Moore-Foreman fight. That's right, Foreman won the unified Heavyweight championship of the world, not the undisputed. That's just one example though. When two respective champions in their weight class fight for titles, its called a unifcation fight, but I'm sure you knew that. After winning the WBA, WBA and Lineal titles at JWW from beating Khan, Danny Garcia has been known as the unified champion, how many times has Jimmy Lennon Jr called him that on Showtime, he even called him the unified champion in the Herrera fight. Danny Garcia beat every relevant fighter at JWW at the end of 2013 and had the greatest claim out of the other two champs Peterson(who just lost to Matthyse at a 141 catchweight) and Alvarado/Provo(paper champs that lost their title after winning it). These are the rankings at the end of 2012, Danny(the champion) defeated the top 3. Marquez had only 1 fight there and had just moved up to WW for tko6, Rios just came out of Lightweight and was splitting wins with Alvarado, and Ruslan hadn't done dog **** until the Alvarado fight. Danny (Swift) Garcia, Champion Lucas Matthysse Amir Khan Zab Judah Juan Manuel Marquez Brandon Rios Khabib Allakhverdiev Mike Alvarado Denis Shafikov Cesar Cuenca Ruslan Provodnikov You're using an opinion to try and cover a fact. Fact is that Garcia did beat Peterson and a lot of people think so as well. It seems like you're strongly basing your opinion on what "other" people think. I'm assuming those other people are the majority of nerds on here hating on Danny because they're upset at his pops, I haven't met one rational person claiming that fight was a gift. If you gave Peterson more than 1 round in the first half of the fight.. well then you don't know how to score a fight. Post your scorecard and lets see if it's non biased and rational. He got a vacant belt and is trying to unify it with Thurman, he's legitimizing the belts like every great champion before him. If he loses, that's cool, I personally think he's gonna win. But if he does lose, so what, that's no reason to hate on the guy.
