This fight does not warrant a rematch. Danny is moving on. He has bigger fish to fry. Matthysse can fight a Rios or Alvarado.

But I was wondering since this was the one question you keep avoiding I'll ask again are you willing to make a PayPal bet right now that Matthysse losses the rematch in anyway just loses 1000 USD via PayPal

Danny beat Matthysse's ass, lmao. Beat the **** out of his face and body. You're the only dumbass on this site. Matthysse never even hurt Danny. Your damage control is not working. Danny already said that there will be no rematch, and that he's contemplating a move to 147. Matthysse was overrated before the fight, and it showed.

Danny isn't my boy. I picked Danny to win because Matthysse's style imo was tailormade for Danny. See, you didn't know that, lmao.

The media nor the fans want to see a rematch. Only sore loser Matthysse fans like you do.

Zab and Devon have been saying they would do a rematch forever (so many YouTube vids ) so it's not them so again you say I'm in denial but I just proved you wrong again...

How does it feel to know that Danny just had a razor close fight (according to the judges and many many fans ) with a guy that couldn't see outta one eye for half the fight ? lol

Going into round 7, Matthysse was ahead 58-56 on two of the judges cards, and the other had it even at 57. Close fight, but Matthysse was getting the better of Danny, and unless you are from Philly or Puerto Rico, or just a faithfull American fan, you have to admit this. To say that the eye injury did not change the fight radically is just typical of someone who is highly biased. Yes, Danny´s punches (some say a headbutt) caused that eye to shut down, and that´s to his credit, but how many times have we seen someone get pummeled and still not develop an eye injury like that. It´s not something that was entirely in Danny´s control, so there is a little bit of "luck" involved. Then you add the constant clinching, which is not nice to watch, but hey, it is legal. However, the low blows were out of control, and in my mind that really takes some luster to Danny´s victory. Then you go into the 11th rd, and a punch that would have knocked down a Buffalo, Danny is able to take (shaken and all, but he took it), and the mouthguard goes all the way to the third row...fight stopped, Danny has time to recover, takes and gives a few more shots, Matthysse gets tangled on the ropes, gets hit with a combo, goes down, gets right back up, etc...

My point with all this is: both guys are amazing warriors, both deserve all the credit in the world, but in my mind, things happened in this fight that went in the favor of Danny. Call it that the "boxing gods" were on his side, that he had a ref that was lineant, that he had a near perfect fight, and that still, the fight was close, and had that 1 second KD not taken place in the 11th rd, it would have been a tie on two of the cards. Keep in mind Matthysse would have won the 11th and it would have been a 10-9 rd instead of an 8-10rd...total game changer.

Logically thinking, I would say Matthysse takes it. Lightning does not strike twice in the same place..

Before the fight I said many times that I saw this as a 50/50 fight which could go either way and from the offset that's what developed, for the first 8 rounds I saw two evenly matched warriors showing incredible desire and granite chins.

It's a shame because before Lucas had his left eye closed I got the impression that he was starting to get the better of Garcia, but credit to Garcia for CAUSING the eye to close with his sharp left hooks, but if the injury didn't happen I think the fight would truly have been an amazing shootout in the championship rounds, instead Lucas spent the last few rounds just looking for one big shot whilst Garcia was able to get over the finishing line with great combos and placing a lot of his shots perfectly.

I thought the knockdown was BS but there's no arguing with the result. I had it 114 - 112 Garcia (As a lot of the press scores and 2 of the judges did) the fight wasn't a lopsided win or a beat down by any stretch, it was two warriors giving spectacular performances,if you look at punch stats the connect rate for both fighters was 36% with similar thrown and landed stats.

Like I said, two VERY evenly matched fighters, it's a shame the injury occured because I think it poses a lot of questions for what "may" have happened.

Would LOVE to see a rematch !!
