so what if his eye was swollen, you dont score swollen eyes like the Garcia fans are trying to push. Close fight even with the swollen eye/numerous low blows. had it 7-5 garcia even after Lucas was getting his legs and nuts blown off in EVERY round past 3. Garcia was warned for low blows as early as round 4! and continued to rip them real low and only was warned again when he was taken the point for bolo punching his nuts off just when lucas was coming on in desperation for the 12th.

Exactly! all this "Danny dominated him" and "beat his ass" bollocks is just stupid, the fight that followed is a fight where one fighter dominated the other, but the OP is just a tool, he thinks Stevens is gonna beat Golovkin as well as thinking Danny won every round against Lucas, I'm guessing he's either on drugs or suffers from some sort of embarrassing disorder, or both.

why can't lucas win if there is rematch?

that whole statement is nonsensical... you think lucas can't beat garcia in the future and even with 2 eyes he would have lost?... how do you know? you can predict the future or alter the past?

    not making sense.

Goes back to what I said about Alvarado-Rios, Alvarado gets stopped in the first fight and then wins the rematch, so if Alvarado can beat Rios after getting knocked out then Lucas can definitely beat Garcia in a rematch.

They could fight 100 times and it will always be 50/50. Saturday was just Danny's night, despite me saying that in EVERY post and sounding like a broken record, the OP quips that I'm a "butt-hurt" Matthysse fan boy because he's not got anything worthwhile to say.

Danny showed great skills on this fight versus Lucas. Most people thought it was a sure KO for Lucas but it didn't turned out that way. Garcia showed heart and patience during the entire fight, even when the mouthpiece flew out of his mouth.

I am hearing people say that Danny should look for someone else as trainer besides his Dad, but let me just say this. If it has been working with his Dad on his corner why change it. Let it be, maybe he feels comfortable having someone close to him in his corner. Plus, from what I saw this past Saturday, to me it looked like Danny follows his instructions really good.

So all in all, great fight and a great night of boxing for fans everywhere.....

Danny leaving Angel would be a disaster, even though he can be a bit of a gobshite at times Angel is actually a VERY good trainer and motivator in the corner, Danny won't leave him anyway though.

yea that makes sense... I wonder what he thinks of chavez jr vs martinez that must be on a completely different level beyond the universe when it comes to one sided fights.... i think the OP is just trolling...

yea danny should stick with his dad... surprisingly his father is a pretty good trainer and gameplans are well thought out.

I had a long chat about pro boxing with a fellow Boricua on another forum. Both of us are old enough to remember when Puerto Rico produced some of the best classical boxers in the sport. We decried the fact that PR produces so few champions today compared to the past. We agreed that our boxers no longer utilize scientific boxing technique and training methods as they did in the late 1960s-1990s. And that this is the reason why we produce so few champions today.

Just before the Garcia-Matthysse match I posted on a chat room that Garcia would win only if he made a boxing match out of it. If he tried to make it exclusively a punching match he would lose. My prediction turned out to be correct - Garcia won because he succeeded in maintaining his game plan of making it a boxing match. His scientific approach was too much for Matthysse's power game.

My hope for the future is that he maintain this strategy and force his opponents to try to adjust their battle plans. I also hope that he does not go up in weight as he is definitely NOT a power puncher. Let's also hope that other Boricua boxers will learn from his example and utilize strategic boxing technique as was done by our champions of the past. This will greatly improve their chances of succeeding in the ring.

uhh no. lucas can move up to 147 and become a force, guess what? That means a garcia vs lucas rematch CAN happen... looks like you're a know it all and can predict all the fights that are going to happen.

going to back to the orignial point of discussion.... nothing wrong with people saying lucas can win.... there is something wrong with people discrediting garcia though

I never said Danny put on a one sided beat down clown, and I don't give a rats ass whether you think I know how to score a fight. The fight wasn't close enough to me or any of the title orgs to call for a rematch. Not everyone saw a close fight. I saw a tough Matthysse gut it out but clearly lose.

Furthermore why wouldn't people wanna see it again ? It was a great fight and a rematch would most likely be even more explosive.

There is nothing embarrassing about having any disorder you degenerate. Yeah, just like I picked Danny to whip Matthysses ass, I'm picking Stevens to ko GG. Deal with it cry baby. Keep eating your crow too loser. Nobody forgot how you clowns belittled Danny and are now asking that his fans say,"it was a close fight". Danny ****ed his cheek and jaw up, bloodied his nose, and hurt him to the body. He whipped Matthysses ass!

    Agreed...

This is nothing but Lucas fans looking for ANY excuse for his UD loss. Lucas may have looked like a "warrior" coming forward but Danny was too smart for him and made him pay with nice combos. The rematch will be a lot easier ala Morales. Garcia now knows what Lucas brings and knows he can take Lucas shots. Lucas gets TKOd in rematch in under 8 rounds. I think we all know that Lucas chin is breakable now.

Those 23 cab drivers on Lucas record, showed in his fight with Garcia.
