Beat a shotdown old fighter Twice, and Landed a lucky punch on Amir Khan He wasn't even looking when He landed it!
If Donaire beats Arce in December, he will much likely have earned FOTY due to activity and dominance.
Garcia is not fighter of the year for beating an old Morales at 140.. And the Khan fight was Khan winning until he was caught. Garcia is interesting, but we getting a little ahead of ourselves if we overrated his win over Erik at this age and weight.
I'm still going with Donaire. Danny looked very good tonight and scored a great KO but Morales is well and truly shot, I don't put much into this win.
He's runner up, unless he manages to squeeze in another fight before the end of the year. Donaire's quality of opponent this year supersedes how impressive Garcia has looked in finishing Khan and then dismantling an opponent who troubled him in his first fight of the year.
I like what Danny is doing, but to be honest, dusting off a jelly jawed brit and some washed up featherweight does not cut it.
He's had a solid year, definitely put himself on the boxing radar, but he's not the fighter of this year. With all the talent in his division, a three win year could easily make him the fighter of a future year.
Wtf, I'm not going to say Garcia deserves FOTY (although he should be a candidate) but why are people still saying knocking out Khan is a fluke? If journeyman Prescott did it why can't a solid title holder like Garcia do it? As if hurting that chinny Brit is impossible! Complete bull**** as to how people discredit DG. He was supposed to beat Morales which he did but ****, he nearly took Morales' head off. It's not what he did but how he did it is where the credit stacks up.
