I don't see another explanation to Garcia's poor outing last night. He did look in good condition. He's usually the one beating others to the punch, and hurting them with a well timed accurate shot, but this time he was feinting/ threatening a lot but not letting his hands go. So either he has bad hands but refuses to reveal it, or he just went the Michael Nunn way and decided to snort away his career ( which i very much doubt)
No. The Danny we saw last night was NOT the Danny we have seen in all the other fights. he was soft with his shots and BACK peddling against a dude with 7 KOs. Let's not be silly here and act like Herrera's speed/skills are beyond Zab's boxing skills etc. Something was wrong with Danny last night. Shet, if he can catch Khan's speed and time it, he could have done the same EASY with Herrera. Either Danny had an injury or he simply cannot make 140 and have the energy needed to fight.
Nothing was wrong with Danny, Herrera is just an underrated fighter, he fought Provodnikov, Alvarado and Mayfield and proved he belonged in the top 10 of the division.
Exactly. He refused to put any weight into his punches, which is very unlike him. In every Garcia fight i've seen, he ALWAYS hurt his oponnent, one moment or another.
Yep! Even my girl was like, "what is wrong with Garcia in this fight??" He was lethargic and looked to be in another universe. Granted, Hererra is crafty but for him to have Garcia backing up all night tells me something was wrong with Garcia that night. Even Herrera expressed this... "maybe he took me lightly...but I saw in the press conference, his dad seemed nervous and quiet and Danny, for the first time was acting up" Something went wrong in this camp and I look forward to a rematch. Garcia had NOTHING to worry about with a puncher like Herrera and he acted like Herrera was Julian Jackson. Nah.
Garcia is damaged like Taylor was after the Chavez fight, Lucas did a job on him, he won't be the same.
I wonder if the whole occasion of fighting in PR in front of many who were claiming him as one of their own had anything to do with it? as well as hairy being better than a cab driver:think:think:think
Danny was back pedaling because he could not deal with Herrera's jab, movement and defense. Herrera may have 7 KOs but if Danny stood his ground and threw Herrera could have caught him with something big.
Garcia will always have problems with fighters that move and give him angles and are as crafty as Herrera on the inside. Herrera will give him problems 100% of the time.
