A quality operator with good power, a granite chin, and a very awkward style. Was exceptional at finding gaps in between punches and combinations but was always a bit limited and his lack of a real, consistent jab meant he was never fully able to dictate the pace of fights or set traps at a higher level than what he did by walking in behind a high guard. Had he hooked up with a legit, world-class trainer then he probably would have been an elite fighter but he was still a respectable world champion and his body of work at 140 is very solid.

Good career. I don't think much of his wins over Morales and Judah. And should have lost to herrera and Peterson. But a solid career nonetheless...

Best six-toed Lego hair boxer of all time for me and I don't think it's particularly close either

Should've lost to Lucas but they combined to screw Lucas over (yet again)

The fact Tony Weeks ruled this a KD is a disgrace but we already know he's as corrupt as sin

Danny lost numerous fights where he was gifted wins by the judges

He had a great chin and timing on that left hook but he really let Team Chin and his reputation as an iron-jawed warrior down when he meekly took the knee and did a quit vs Lara. Shame on you! Shame! Shame! Shame!

I forgot he had a legit iron chin.

I don't believe there's many fighters that stay standing after that shot. About as flush a full power shot can land.

    Another angle:

He was a good fighter he had some good wins. He had a lot of cherry picking and inactivity but he did fight most of the best guys of his era. He produced a number of good highlight reel KO's.

Definitely not a first ballot HoF but he does have the credentials to make it in. Unified/lineal and became the best boxer in his natural weight class, 2 division champion, 11-4 against former champions, 7 title defenses and was part of some of the best selling PPV's of all time.

You got guys like Danny, then guys like Cotto, then maybe guys like Tate. But other than that, who you got? Gotta have that.

Great at 140. 147, not nearly as effective.
