I remember just the opposite being true... It was the "Garcia Haters" that were saying El Maestro would school Danny (which he did), while Danny's Trannies were on duty saying that Danny would KO feather fisted Herrera.

Of course there were exceptions, but here are the facts...

Danny didn't take that fight because he thought it would be as hard as it was... Proof is in the fact that Danny doesn't even talk about giving him a rematch

I wouldn't give Herrera a rematch either because we have nothing but a lynch mob mentality now, all the vast majority of people want is for Herrera to be given the victory he "deserved" Any kind of close rounds and the judges will probably give them to Herrera with as little thought as possible, that's the scenario to be feared, a scenario all too possible considering after effects from the first fight.

Lol, so in other words allow your career and legacy to take a major hit by accepting a cheap undeserved victory out of fear of a cheap undeserved loss... For one, if you have a cheap undeserved loss, no fan will hold it against you... If its just losing your "0" that you're afraid of than you're a *****, period

This isn't like Andre Ward's situation. People want him to fight outside his home city because they think it will make some kind of difference, but he puts on dominant one-sided performances, so the only difference it makes is increasing his chances of being robbed... That's understandable

    Danny's situation is not

Danny's supposed to be this super skilled ADAPTABLE fighter cut from the same cloth as Mayweather and Marquez. If DANNY believed that, than it wouldn't be a question... Obviously Danny isn't too confident in his ability to make the fight more one-sided in his favor...

Proof is in the pudding, if Danny took the fight I would have no arguments (or qualms)

You say the fans won't care as if that's the only thing to consider, when it's known that losses affect your stock/money. And that's exactly my point, Danny will now have to win a clear one sided victory a crafty, pesky, pure boxer who knows to survive and keep from looking to bad. It's not easy to do in the first place, and then the fight may not even be judged fairly on top of it?? Like I said, that's an easy thing to pass on and say no thanks to. To put in perspective, I wouldn't mind seeing Herrera against Floyd at all, one of the few guys out there around his weight who can give him a taste of his pure boxing medicine. Danny fought him, even Herrera said it was close, it's not Danny fault they unfairly sent out a lynch mob on Danny making the fight an easy one to avoid.

  6. Al Haymon absolutely deserves tons of blame for all of this, but his fighters who blindly follow all of his advice and ignore what fans and promoters (but mostly fans) want deserve equal amounts.

You are a fighter, your job is indeed to fight (which is the chief excuse used in fighting mismatches). If you are a champion (or claim to be), then your job is to fight the best. Consistently. (especially if you only fight twice a year)

Al Haymon’s model is really attractive for his fighters because of the reward involved for a significantly decreased risk (for the most partpart), but the fighters (and fans of said fighters) need to understand that they’re going to be rightly criticized for this BS.

True if you're a virtual unknown... Like Herrera... Or like how Matthysse was when he was robbed by Judah and Alexander... But if you're already establish, as Garcia is, than this is simply untrue... Look at Adrian Broner, he lost in a devastating one sided manner, and he still draws fans and is highly touted (the only difference is that everyone now knows how good he is/isn't)... If Garcia managed to pull off a clear victory against Herrera but got robbed?? Yeah, I'm sure he'd fade into obscurity after that, right??

Everything else you said... Just excuses, that's all I can say... They're the kind of excuses one comes up with after spending far too much time thinking them up... I can't help but get the feeling all of the more obvious ones didn't work out so you had to muster this one from no where...

Herrera can give Floyd trouble? :rofl That type of thinking comes from overrating Garcia, thus giving anyone that beats him too much credit for doing so

Yes if hes not already. Khan and Matthysse are preety good fighters. Morlaes was old but fought Maidana hella hard with 1 eye so the first fight was a good win for garcia. not great but good. dude is very close to p4p top 10.
