Danny is as good as his father can make him at this stage in his career. He has did it the hard way all the way up to the Matthysse fight. His resume is on par with some of the best. Since the Salka bout he has really been on the down swing because, you are only as good as your competition. Now that he is at 147 he finds it far more difficult to KO anyone or knock them down. He will have to either learn to fight hard in the first 5 and go for the KO or become more of a boxer and place punches better.
He needs to take his ass back down to 140. He's gonna get starched by most 147lb's. Spence will destroy him. I'd even fancy Khan to beat him at 147
This. He doesn't have the same stopping power that he had at 140. Danny does have a great chin and great balance, but his inability to cut the ring off is going to keep getting him out boxed by guys with fast hands and feet like Thurman or tall guys with a good reach like Spence. He definitely needs to try a new coach that can expand his game.
Glass jawed though....and nothing close to a good CPer, or slick boxer. Too crude and too small and soft chin....McGregor would have a solid 30-50% chance vs Salka.
Well hes supposed to be fighting porter for an interim title. All the trash talk between them (and their dads) and youd think this fight would be a no brainer and signed by now. Porter likely stops him in an epic slug fest by 9th or 10th round. Yes Garcia withstood scary moments against Thurman but styles make fights. Porters non stop aggression & wild clubbings shots vs garcias flat feet, lack of head movement and defense is a bad combination. Even if he gets past porter he would definitely lose to the top welters in spence, brook, even the past his prime pacquiao could beat him. Hes very one dimensional. Thurman wins an even clearer decision or stops him mid rounds in a rematch. The only winnable fights at 147 are vargas and khan, both of which he could lose. He has a chance against bradley but bradley is still very good and if he cant cut off the ring hell swing at air and lose a lopsided decision. He beats algieri but who the hell wants to see that?
