George Foreman's 5th Ward upbringing and history of gang fights really helped him against Muhammad Ali, he of rather middle-class origins.
Its all relative, growing up in a 3rd world you don't expect internal plumbing, cable, cell phones etc etc....living say in Albany projects in Brooklyn you do expect it however you don't expect you kids to get stabbed to death in an elavator because some crack head was mad the kids drug dealing brother didnt want to hook him up a lay away plan.
Ali such a monster. Well off black kid who just wanted to beat people up :yep So much for needing to grow up rough to have the mentality to be able to handle boxing.
You have bad instincts. Danny is definitely not a punk on the streets. You can clearly see he loves a good scrap. He talked about the fights he got into almost every day in Philly school etc. Haters have a need to try and make pro fighters into suckers they could beat on. Nah. Danny would separate your jaw from your skull. Right off the hinges and leave you with medical bills and a few appointments.
Pac is more G growing up in General Santos eating snakes cats rats dogs and lizard and sometimes not eating at all while fighting every barrio fiesta to win $2
The hood doesn't really make you "tough", it just makes you more likely to professionally box because you have fewer financial options. Just about anywhere you find poverty you find boxers. Most of these guys, the first million they make and its straight to sipping pink champagne at the tranny brothel.
I got into fights every day in L.A. public, it didn't really have any relevance to boxing. I still had no idea what I was doing and looked like a clumsy goofball when I walked into a gym. I don't really get the relationship between the two. Yeah, no **** he likes fighting, he does it for a living, but being from Philly doesn't result in de facto toughness in the ring. Someone used Zab Judah earlier as an example of a guy who's ghetto as hell but mentally a little girl.
The hood use to make guys tough but not anymore. The influx of guns and lack of male figures have pussified the hood. For some reason's kids nowadays think having a gun makes them tough. During my father's generation if you had beef with somebody you both settled it with you fist. If you happen to lose it wasn't a big deal, at least you lived to fight another day
This guy has no clue what he is talking about...First of all Camden is about 30 seconds away from Philly because it is right across the river . Second of all Philly is a disgusting Hell hole...North Philly is terrible, West Philly is terrible, SW Philly is terrible and South Philly west of Broad street is also bad....Hell even Germantown and Mt Airy are not really safe. The place is infested with boarded up homes, kids running around flash mobbing and playing the KO game, not only to mention many drug addicts and dealers everywhere. City is a total dump.
