cotto is more fundamentally sound than Garcia, Garcia fights upright, goes straight back with his hands up and throws looping punches.

cotto had a chin. he's proven to be very durable and tbh danny is a notch below coto in the technique department but he has time to make the adjustments

 

Cotto was flat footed because he liked to come to his opponents and walk them down. I think the fact that a counter puncher like Garcia is flat footed is bad- a quick guy like Zab Judah, if he was aggressive and played it smart (unlikely) could cause him big troubles. Khan caught him with some good shots, but its not enough to claim he has that great a chin, and Holt didn't really cause too much damage. Could he take the shots Cotto was dropped by by Ricardo Torres? No one knows yet.

Don't think he's similar to Garcia really. Cotto has a far better jab and body-attack, a different defensive style and is more left-hand happy than Garcia.

Garcia isn't a fraction as talented as Cotto.

Miggy could have smashed Khan by his 11th or 12th pro fight.

 

Cotto has a very good chin and is technically alot better than Garcia. He has superior handspeed, combinations and timing. I also think that Garcia's best punch I (his left hook) isn't as good as Cotto's left hook.

I don't really rate Garcia that highly tbh, which really doesn't bode well for Amir.
