WBC, WBA belts were both on the line. So was the RING belt, between the two top contenders of the division. Basically this belt was for a championship that had been vacated by Bradley's move up the 147, and Peterson's failed drug test.

Monzon and Galindez were both solid fighters who looped their punches pretty frequently and had less than pleasing punching technique. Both rattled off 10 plus defenses in their respective championship reigns. Looping shots doesn't always mean a boxer sucks at what he does. :deal

He did drop him pretty damned hard, it should be noted.

garcia is terrible which makes the loss worse for khan in my eyes. I think many at 140 beat garcia easily

Yes but there is a big difference between a kd and a ktfo I'd think.

Sounds like the OP is a bit pissed that Khan lost.

How is it he is the weakest Champion? Is it because he has never lost? Is it because he's not super flashy and speedy? There is much more to boxing than looking flashy and having superior speed, like knowing when to throw a left hook when your opponent leads with a hook and his right is down. Garcia is an intelligent fighter who can adjust in the ring and win, nobody yet has been able to outsmart him in the ring, to say he's the weakest champion in boxing is ridiculous, to call any linear champ in boxing weak is also ridiculous.

I think he's better than Sonny Boy Jaro.

Only in boxing can the (supposed) underdog pull out a fantastic victory, and the next day jerks like you talk all sorts of nonsense, like he's garbage. Doesn't say much about Morales or Khan that he was able to dominate them with what as you say is his "horrible technique"...

I feel you, but what is going to be his plan B, when he steps up against someone with a good enough chin, timing, and defense? He's very limited, but very fun to watch.

Putting ur head down and swinging for the fences isnt exactly what i'd call technical ability.

:good yeah you're right, we should celebrate this. I wish I saw this coming. I thought khan was too steep a step up in class.
