I just watched a video of Mikey saying it was almost done but then Spence started saying he wanted Porter instead, now things look to be back on track.
Does this factor into the agenda at all?

 

Mikey talks the talk and then fights someone who wasn't in one of his team's 20 high profile video call outs.

 

yet people still take him serious when pitting him against the best in 3 divisions, including the p4p #1. some like myself think he will win them. he didnt finagle his way into that standing, the man has whooped plenty of ass. maybe not the ass you want to see him whoop, but 4 titles in 4 weights and a unification in a span of 12 fights is hardly crying wolf.

 

I'm not saying he's a bad fighter - he's looked spectacular against the right opposition thus far - but he has a tendency to talk about fights he looks to have no actual intention of making with his team granting him automatic hypothetical wins whilst fighting lesser opposition.

 

which fights do you believe he has no actual intentions of making? and, what response did you expect his team to take?

 

Probably has something to do with 2 L's in his last 3 fights. Pacquiao and Broner appear much more winnable fights than Spence.

He has literally fought 2 of the top 3 WW's in his last three fights.

I don't think he had any intention of giving us a Lomachenko fight. I don't think he was serious about a Cotto fight. I don't think he wants a fight with Crawford and he failed to arrange a fight with Linares, Thurman or Pac. There's talk of Spence now but I'll believe it when its announced.

And I want his team to stop the continual call outs. Pick a top tier target, get the fight and then move on. At the minute they just shout a load of bravado fuelled nonsense. I'm half expecting them to call out Joshua, Fury and Wilder one day soon.

It's a difficult fight that won't generate much money compared to other options and would see him have to deal with Bob Arum again.

 

but both camps have been in talks repeatedly and members of both camps say its scheduled for 2019. how much time would you say the camps would want to promote a fight like this between top p4p fighters to determine the best fighter in the world right now?

 

Put simply I don't trust Mikey. I think he'll offer the fight at some silly weight claiming he can't get down to 135 next year and then fight someone like Danny or Khan.

 

so, simply put, you have no real reason to believe he doesnt want those fights, you just dont trust mikey... for whatever reason.
