These rumor was traveling around stadium armory while dusty was getting his beat. I just don't see it making sense though. Cotto wants big fight. Is Garcia a big fight? I don't really think so. Any why would Haymon sacrifice Garcia to Cotto. I hope he doesn't think Garcia can win. Also , it not a real Rican vs Rican fight because Danny if really just a philly boy. The would have to ppv to be able to pay Cotto and I can see it doing enought buys. I'm not even gonna bring up weight or the fact that Haymon and Jay-z hate each other. Bull**** rumor I suppose!
Roc Nation is a joke lol Cotto should fight Rigondeaux, winner fights Darmani Rock and winner of that gets Andre Ward sweepstakes.
Most of your reasons are legitimate, except for Danny not being a Puerto Rican, and even though he's from Philly, he's got a large, if not LARGER Puerto Rican fan base in Brooklyn. MSG or Barclays would be best suited for this fight, and even if Cotto had to come to 150 with NO title on the line, this would make for an exciting PPV. In spite of Garcia's lack of recent opposition, he is still a genuine WW titlist, and sports the best resume of the current WWs outside Timmy. Cotto is clear HOFer and a top 50 140-160 ATG, while Garcia is looking to be that next WW PPV attraction, and beating Cotto would easily propel him to that level. ROC made a HUGE fail when they signed Cotto for 40 mil over 3 fights so they have to get SOME of that back, Im hearing that the Canelo fight only made up for about 4 mil of the losses taken in the Geale flop. Cotto is currently the top PR name in the sport, resumewise, and legendary status wise. While I personally believe a comebacking Margorito would be a better sell if Margs can beat a few more fringe level guys at 154, but Garcia would be a PERFECT second choice and could actually aid Haymon as he attempts to mend bridges with other banners and networks in attempt to bring back fleeing investors. This fight would easily 400K buys at 49.99 in another co-network PPV event as Showtime and HBO look to open pathways for their stars, Crawford-Postol winner, Bradley vs the likes of Spence, Thurman-Porter winner and on and on and on. This second class PPV event could ultimately be the bridge we've all been praying for or against, as some wish their fav's to be hidden by banners, while other wish to see the best fights made as they once were. Damn.....I hope this happens.:think
Horrible fight for Danny. He's a counter-puncher with a vicious L hook, while Broner is a CPer with devastating OH R. Neither are particularly aggressive vs other top guys, and both seem to prefer to be second and hope their shots open their opponets up for the flurries.:think While I don't like Broner for reasons not pertaining to his boxing, I honestly believe that he's the overall better technical fighter, the stronger fighter, and the fighter with the overall better punch resistance. :think
