This is the fight to make at 147 between two young, undefeated and hungry lions. Garcia (31-0, 18 KOs) has a superior overall resume than Thurman, which includes Khan, Malinaggi, Peterson, and Mathysse. Yet Thurman (26-0, 22 KOs) is more experienced at the weight. The winner would be in a position to legitimately call out anyone at the weight. Who wins this and how?
i say thurman wins with a knockdown and almost stopping garcia in like the 5th. But they should save this fight for the future when both are more proven and established.
I've seen Thurman out on his feet twice, once verses Collazo who got to his body and another vs Jesus Soto Karras. Danny hits much harder than both, and is in a greater portion of his prime than the two aforementioned. Thurman would look to move and potshot, but I wonder about his chin? a swifty hook on point can make or break this one, as Thurman likes to close with his opponent periodically when he feels the upper hand. Danny likes to wing em. Danny has Titanium in his chin, if you don't agree see Matthysse blasting the mouthpiece out of Danny's mouth with a scorching shot, but how is the Thurm Mandible? interesting fight.
One time beats cherry. Speed makes the difference... one time could also get Ko'd though. Think his chin is a liability.
Think Thurman on points. No way will Thurman engage as Danny can deffo wack a bit, plus Thurman fights like he knows full well he can't take a decent shot. See it playing out very much like Thurman/Guerrero to be honest. Would much rather see Khan vs Garcia at this weight as it will finally show us whether Khan is ever likely to do anything at WW.
Yeah khan wants to be fighting big names well Garcia is a big enough name for him a d a chance to avenge his ko loss. Something tells me khan is too scared to go back in with Garcia though....too much risk his egg chin might crack again......even though boxing smart i think he'd get a wide UD on points.
I really do not think Danny will lose to anyone besides Manny or Floyd, not because he's that good...it's just he will not be given an L. Danny is more important to Boxing than Thurman...if he lasts 12 rounds, he'll get the win
