Danny Garcia vs. Keith Thurman

What a Great fight....Thurman by late stoppage...

 

Thurman has more athletism, is bigger and hit harder. I went for Garcia because he is more crafted.

 

I don't see how PAC is any less than #1 at WW. In truth he should probably still be at 1 p4p. Think about it, him and floyd were 1a and 1b, he's lost a close fight to presumably the no.1 p4p in floyd, how does losing to 1 when you're 2 then mean no.3 is better than you? Logically it don't make sense, it make sense if you lost to 3 or 4 or 20 - that's generally how linealship works, beat the man who beat the man.

Floyd and PAC were the man, PAC lost to the man, but nobody beat him or the man(floyd) so he remains no.2 behind floyd, but floyd is retired so go figure where he is.

Moreover, name me an active ww with a better WW resume than PAC? You can say it's what you done recently but that's not true, cos if floyd came back he be no.1 and he done **** all recently. And that's because nobody has beaten him to prove his past it yet. Same with PAC, he hasn't been beaten yet by someone perceived to have been below him yet so he can't be said to be past it. Aside from that jmm ko but if we're basing his ranking on that loss then he wouldn't have been 2-3 on p4p list when he fought floyd.

It's like how nadal and feederer were 1&2. Nadal being no.2 didn't make him no.3 if he lost to federer, that would only happen if Federer himself lost or nadal lost to someone below him.

 

Pac was #2 until he got KTFO6 by old man Marquez.

 

Thurman on points, his movement will frustrate Danny.

 

You have to look at all the possibilities. Remember everyone underestimated Danny against Khan, and Matthyse, I think theirs 2 Dannys, a lazy frustrated Danny and a Motivated countering danny constantly looking for openings and working the body. His chin is what gives him the time to have a chance to put some work on Keith.

Thurman's suspect body and almost taking a knew versus collazos hook to the body as well as having lesser opposition compared to Danny is what makes this fight a 50/50. Danny has great timing and bangs the body harder than coollazo, but his sloppy performances in the past also makes it down to be observe as a 50/50 fight.

Everyone loves a Ko wrecking machine but come on either side can do damage, it looks like Thurman has a side job with HOOD and has all these fanboys in groups taking turns at a cumshot To the mouth as they jump up like dolphins being fed

 

I can't really apply any logic to it, but gut feeling just tells me Garcia is going to win, somehow.

Every assessment of style, skill, power points to Thurman, but I think Garcia is just one of those fighters that gets there by hook or by crook. I hope I'm wrong, would like to see Thurman smash him up, but either way I'm looking forward to the fight.

Spence is FAR above Thurman, Garcia and the rest, except brook is legit.

Fyi: resumes do NOT prove ANY THINK, you can beat ONLY who you've been in the ring with.

 

I love the Spence hype. It's good that fans get excited. But for me, that chin needs to get checked. How do you know that Spence can take a flush Thurman right hand or a Garcia left hook or a Brook combination? WE DONT. That's why resumes matter. Resumes prove things like durability.

 

Would be nice if Pac could fight someone outside the Top Rank b circuit so we could know for sure. Continuing to win at least to me doesn't mean anything if he doesn't fight Brook, Spence, Thurman, or Crawford.

 

I could see Danny outboxing Thurman with counterpunching and the straighter, shorter punches, but I'll pick Thurman to win on range, foot speed, and activity. Hard to know how good each really is and the bookies seem to have it about right with Thurman as 1/2 fave so I'm not betting on it. My play is the over 10.5 rounds. Garcia we know has solid but not great power, and a great chin, and Thurman I think will be boxing pretty carefully. I have a hard time seeing a stoppage. Should be a tight 12 rounder, probably hard to score, and I wouldn't be shocked with a draw.

 

As a long time fight fan, I am excited to see this fight on regular T.V. Particularly because they are both very good action type fighters. For a long time, we were exposed to the likes of Hopkins and Mayweather. Both talented but boring fighters to watch. Tonight we get some action. There remains no sport that can compare to boxing at its best. I go back to the early 1950's as a fight fan. There are some very exciting fighters out there in todays game. Guys like GGG and the up and coming Joe Smith Jr. Guys that come to fight and have KO power. As a side point, I pick Garcia to stop Thurman from a series of left hooks somewhere around the 7th round. It will come down to heart and durability and I think Garcia has more of both.

 

No way is this fight more deserving PPV than GGG vs. Jacobs. GGG has got to be the most explosive and accomplished fighter in the game today and though I see him stopping Jacobs, Jacobs is a pretty good test for him.
