Say Mile High Mike beats Ruslan Provodnikov next month and does so in good style by stopping the tough Russian, do you think the next big fight at 140 might be Garcia-Alvarado ?

I've said it for ages that I think these two match up perfectly, both are boxer/punchers, both have come through adversity in fights and have shown the hearts of a lion plus both can punch and both can take a punch.

    I'd LOVE to see it!

I would have picked Garcia before this weekend. I don't really rate Rios or Alvarado as top tier fighters at 140.

If Rios looks awesome against Pac and beats him up or gives him a hell of a fight (as long as Pac doenst look like **** in the process) then ill come back and give it more thought (I realize this thread isn't about Rios, but the Rios fights are good measuring sticks as to where Alvarado is at right now, which is why I bring it up),

    but as of now

    Garcia
    Matthysse
    ------
    ------
    ------
    Alvarado
    Rios

    just imo

    This.

    I'd favor Garcia easy though.

Alvarado was getting outboxed by Prescott.

Somehow i think Danny absolutely schools him.

Prescott was on very good form back then and Alvarado even said that he realized he had prepared all wrong when Prescott was throwing straight shots instead of wide looping shots as Prescott is known. He says all the time how much he learned from that fight. He looked much better in the Herrera and Rios fights, be interesting to see how he fares with Ruslan.

Alvarado actually has decent skills for a guy who came into the sport at a late age and with a wrestling backround (if im correct). he does a lot of subtle things. he made me a fan vs rios.
