Horrible matchup for Hatton. Danny will counter hook him to death.. Hatton’s style is the one style Danny can effortlessly feast on forever..

    Disagree.

Mauricio Herrera pressured and lit up Danny and busted him up.

Remember watching that match, Herrera won that but was robbed, shame.

Mauricio Herrera established his jab to the body and face of Danny early on utilizing that 71 inch reach. He also moved around the ring and gave Danny different crafty looks. He definitely deserved to win that decision. Ricky Hatton only has a 65 inch reach(to Danny’s 68) and he doesn’t utilize a jab and he was fairy flat footed. Hence why I said this particular matchup is tailor made for Danny. He’ll wait for Ricky to attack and counter him all fight..

50/50 fight, if Hatton can take Danny's power and stay in Danny's chest he wins, Danny can get overwhelmed, Lamont Peterson put on the pressure and busted up Danny on the inside, If Hatton cant take the power and gets caught in midrange he eats counters all day and gets stopped mid rounds

    I would lean to this,maybe 70/30 Hatton

I think Ricky would outwork him. Yes he defends punches with his face, but he is fast, has good feet and plenty of pressure

The more I think about it I would maybe favour him a little more

Ricky's chin was solid, can't hold the Manny knockout against him, that was a bomb and against Floyd he blew his load and jumped into shots

Good post. I think Ricky's pressure would work to his advantage. He knows his game, knows how he fights. I don't think Danny would have the best backup plan for the pressure and lack of distance Hatton would keep. But...can't count out danny.

I can't see why you think Hatton was flat footed
I thought his foot work was good

He didn’t move like Herrera did and his jab is nonexistent in comparison.. He will try to make it a rugged fight but just as he jumped into a shot vs Floyd I can see him running right into a counter hook from Danny. Danny had glaring weaknesses a consistent jab would freeze him, a mover would lower his work rate and Shawn porters size and strength definitely gave him problems.

Hatton wouldn’t have a size, speed, reach or jab advantage. Go back and watch the Matthysse fight he handle the physical pressure well because Matthysse didn’t have a consistent jab..
