I was impressed with some of Garcia's work. But the ref was on his side the whole fight. He was allowed to hit low and clinch the all night.

 

Garcias got an iron chin, I knew it was solid after the Judah fight, but last night Garcia
ate a lot of flush shots like they were nothing. Danny used good defense, some old school philly style in there, nice bobbing and weaving. I honestly thought Danny was in trouble in the first round, it became obvious he could deal with his power but for how long?
One of the best fights of the year imo. Agree no one at 140 can beat Danny.

 

Lucas fought a massive puncher without even trying to use any real head movement or defense.

His eye closed because he is limited and has no ability to beat a man he can't KO.

 

I feel Garcia also cheated. He hit Matthysse with several punches below the borderline, this was especially true early on in the fight when Matthysse seemed to be in control. I'm surprise the ref only took note when it didn't matter i.e. the last round.

Hitting below the belt seems to be a strategy adopted by team Garcia watch the Khan fight. Khan was outboxing Garcia and to change the momentum Garcia hit Khan with several punches below the belt before the fight completely changed.
