Put it this way - Hopkins made $250k US fighting Ornelas and he stands to make $3-4mill AUS fighting Green here if he accepts the 50/50 split.

Do you think Hopkins' cares whether Green is fit to shine his shoes or not when that much money is up for grabs?

 

It does make you wonder why they wont jump at the cash......maybe Danny has them a bit worried after the RJJ stoppage :deal

He's not a PPV star in his own right, as someone else here said, he needs a dance partner to sell a card.

 

Yes I do....when looking at fights everybody looks at risk v reward....Danny's risk level went up a notch or 2 after the RJJ stoppage.

Just look at how RJJ stopped Lacy a few months before that....ok Lacy is passed his best however he's still a name....Danny Green is now far above Lacy.

 

Sorry but Jeff Lacy of the last few years is just a journeyman. Roy Jones has not looked remotely good for a long long time against top level opposition.

 

Yes agree....however what I'm saying is B Hop is taking into consideration that Green has a punch and just stopped RJJ....he's looking for more money because of this....I'm not saying Greens is top level however BHOP sure as **** knows Green is more dangerous that Orneales :deal

 

True but Bhop is not happy that a no mark on the world stage like Green is demanding 50-50 in a fight against him when he is the all time legend who is still P4P no. 3 in boxing. I agree that Green is bringing in a lot of money but Bhop isn't going to be able to look himself in the mirror if he allows someone like Danny Green to earn equal.

 

Yeah and you would think Green's camp would know this and try to structure the deal another way.....like Green gets 100% aussie PPV and 30% gate...B Hop gets 70% gate and 100% of world PPV.

Just saw a link in the general where RJJ's camp is claiming the rematch with Hopkins has been signed.

A revised contract was drafted after Green beating RJJ made the original contract null and void.

I hope this isn't true, I want Hopkins to fight Green. Could be Hopkins has been stalling to get a read on how viable a rematch with RJJ would be after Green beating him.
