I didn't say that. No doubt Mundine would be very wealthy regardless of his rivalry with Green, what I said was that he wouldn't of got that big of a payday without Green.

Mundine is wealthy because of the gulible nature of boxing fans here, not due to his ability. Had he been German or British he would have been a also ran.

Theres been many occasions where people have admitted their prep hasnt been ideal before the fight, and not just after. As for saying they'd most likelt get beat, well, you're just being ******ed there, and I'd like you to stop :)

Fact is, Green was constantly talking about how much better he feels under Salas' methods, ect, and how he wasn't throwing up ect after meals, sessions to make weight. yet months after his loss, he goes on about how he experienced those same problems during the build up to the Mundine fight.

I'm not saying that Green is the only one who bullshits, just saying how he's not one of the ones that doesn't.

Yeah gullible is part of it, but the Mundine act is not necessarily worthy of an oscar.

If it walks like a duck, quacks like a duck.....

Don't forget a large majority of his viewing audience wants to see him to get KTFO and the remainder, like myself, just want an Aussie with talent to do well.

I give praise to his management for his financial success, not because he duped the public, but by capturing the public's attention, drawing interest from a niche market with well timed exposure.

I have different views on his management creating any sort of boxing legacy.

Had Mundine really been "The Man" he would have permantly decamped to Europe or the states and worked his way into the big money circus. But he rather earn a fair deal less fighting bums. It would have took time and effort but he could have been wealthier and far more succesful.

But as ever with Mundine he took the easy option and took the Aussie boxing fans for what many of them have become. Mugs.

Mundines crowds look like a Rat tails and Holden Commedore convention where wverybody acts like they had a character in Underbelly based on them.

But how many people who actually like and follow Mundine actually know anything about Boxing. He has a following mainly comprised of wannabe gangtas and South Sydney Troggs. The man has sucked the air out of Aussie boxing to fuel his own bull****.

Bomber, there was very little air left anyway.

In Aus boxing is waay down the list of mainstream sport, there are very few people who have ever heard of Calzaghe or Cotto or even Jones Jr. Mundine taps into a middle market, capturing the attention of non boxing purists that follow other sports and are drawn into a new environment where they can cheer for or against a high profile athlete, which is more than you can say for any other current Aussie boxer since Fenech, Tszyu to a lesser extent.

You could argue that for all the attention he draws, he isn't necessarily using it wisely, but for all his faults, you can't say he hasn't provided greater exposure to boxing in Aus.

It's called being in a positive frame of mind, heading into a fight.

It's very unusual and counterproductive for a fighter to openly say they've had a bad prepartation prior to a fight. I would assume that he didn't bring it up immediately after the fight because he didn't want to appear to be making excuses. I think it is evident that he was weight-drained in his later fights a SMW. Beyer II was perhaps the worst example. It was obvious that he was a funny colour and he looked ill. In his book he says that vs Mundine he was gassed in the first round. That's nobodies fault but his and could have happened for a range of reasons, but being weight drained would be the most likely. Or he could just be lying. Either way he lost.
