I agree with a lot of what you say, but Green just didn't say that he had good prep for the Mundine fight, he went into detail about his new diet, routine, ect on many occasions, and how his body isn't going through all this hell now under Salas. then after the Mundine fight it's the same old story almost. If he was going through what he said he was, it'd be strange that he'd go into such fine detail about how he wasn't at the time.
I must admit a guy I commended for giving no excuses directly after the fight, is certainly changing his tune as time goes by.
Don't you just love the stock standard weight drain excuse that some fighter's use after they have been beaten by a better fighter. Just man up and admit that your opponent was far superior on the night.
Yeah fair enough, he did go into a fair bit of depth about why felt stronger etc. I just think it's the difference between thinking you've got the problem solved and actually having the problem solved. I know he discovered that he had that weird pancreas thing that he developed after the Sullivan fight where he can't eat sugar. That would have been thought to be the source of a lot of problems. Having solved all those problems maybe he just couldn't fight effectively at that weight regardless. If I was gassed after the first round I would be looking for answers too. Maybe he should have kept that information to himself. He has stated on many occasions that Mundine was the far superior fighter that night. Once you start admitting that other fighters are better than the best version of you, then its probably time to stop fighting. As far as excuses for the Mundine loss I thought they were pretty light-on compared to most fighters in similar situations.
