Trying not to count the chickens before they hatch but suppose Danny Green wins impresively against BJ Flores - and I don't mean just a KO in 1 round - I mean ability to take a cruiserweight punch, displays good movement with the defense, and patient smart offense do you think he has an argument to be included with the proposed cruiserweight super 6 tournament?

From the list I read it had: Cunningham, Huck, Wlodarcyk, Hernandaz, and I can't remember the last one (It definitely was not Green).

Currently, Green hasn't proven he can handle this weight class as he's fought smaller opponents at catchweights - but if he does win, he along with Huck will bring an exciting style. Also Green also has the biggest win against a name opponent (The fact Roy Jones Jr was past his best is irrelevant), and will bring an entire country to support.

I can understand Green being a liability because he has a smaller body than the other mentioned cruiserweights and will turn 38 in 2011. I sure as hell wouldn't want him to leave the tournament after one insipid performance ala Jermain Taylor in the supermiddleweight super 6.

Christ mate haven't you read that other thread....half them blokes want him deported...:tong

Seriously, now he knows he's gotta get fairdinkum it'll be interesting to set how he stacks the weight on and how he handles it....surely the crew at Parramatta would have plenty of expertise in that field.

and yes....Green in a tournament like that would be massive.

You have to remember Green has a pretty big mainstream fanbase and the media is quite forgiving and praise him for what he does. His mainstream fans didn't realise Siaca last fought as a middleweight before facing Green, and even though Briggs-Green was terrible on paper it didn't stop it from being a success at the gate/PPV. For me at least, a good win over Flores will prove he can at least still mix it with good fighters.

In terms of the weight I like it for Green: Cruiserweight is one of those in between divisions - Not quite agile enough to fight with the light heavyweights/not quite strong enough to bang with the heavyweights, so it suits his style and limitations.

I think he's bitten off a bit more than alot of people realise. I'll admit BJ Flores hasn't exactly been tested with the best of the best but he can box, displays very good head movement and can certainly bang.

...and big enough to absorb Greens power....the other thing is Green is prone to take abit of punishment himself...it'll be a war of attrition that's for sure...this is a 50 50 fight.

Green did put on a good show v Flores

The best thing he did was box smart....not sure we have ever seen that from Green before

IMO I dont think hes slipped yet so why not put him in the super 6 :good

One would think Flores would have been in the super 6 if he didnt lose to Green so its only fair Green gets in

You wont see Danny in any comp run by Sauderlaund i can guarantee that.
I do know that Tarver is sniffing around again but the guy is ****ing delusional when it comes to $$.
He earnt about 250k for his last heavyweight fight yet he keeps knocking back offers from GMP that are 3 x that amount and then wants to talk **** about Danny not really wanting to fight him.
If Tarver does come to Australia in April he's going to get knocked out big time:deal
and Hopefully someone ***** slaps gary shaw that guy is just a real **** with a big mouth.:vonnecunt

Problem Green has is GBP know about the amount RJJ got paid....thats why the BHOP fight fell over and thats why Tarver is asking for more and more.

wasnt Gary Shaw working with Danny trying to get a fight with Hopkins but instead tried to set him up against
    Dawson?

    Are you Shaw :D

I thought the reason the BHOP fight never came off is BHOP knows what RJJ got and he wanted the same....Green offered more rights but the yanks wouldnt back themselves (BHOPS name) to earn the cash :huh

    Why did Shaw blow it?
