i still cant be leave that when he finally won a world title he retired and give up his title and then 16 months later he came back
and after what he said in his doco neither could i but he has a family, there was a global financial crisis and investments may of lost value so he had to go back on his word and chase a money fight.he was after Mundine but he was being difficult got RJJ.money.
After originally retiring because he wanted to stay in top health to now when he says Roy will have to kill him to win as thats the only way he's going to stop him from coming forward.
Green is no fraud mate,he honestly and legitimately really did get his face slapped stupid by mundine.
I thought he retired cause he had made a pact with his father before the old man passed away....?? Made a promise to him to get out when he was not at the top of his game or he was passed it, something along those lines. I got the impression retiring was a gesture to his late dad. Guess he must have been a little emotional at the time.
I'm not real sure. I did read somewhere that he retired because he wanted to spend quality time with his family, and didn't want to risk his health, etc. Though as stiffy said, it's all just boxing talk.
Floyd after Oscar-retired,Floyd after Hatton-retired blah, blah like my herpes keeps coming back.just boxing talk.
I'm sure Mal is quite shocked to hear that hes actually dead:yep Just messing with ya...he's oldman is alive and well and yes he did make a promise to his dad that he would quit if he wasn't at the top of his game.
A special for Ty and Lefty - enjoy boys! Rhyme time for Green Machine - The Daily Telegraph - Feb 08th 2011 SYDNEY hip hop heroes Bliss N Eso provided some scene-stealing moments on their Big Day Out tour. Finishing up in Perth on Sunday, the trio were joined on stage by their mate, boxing champion Danny Green, who they immortalised in a rhyme on the track People Up On It from latest hit record Running On Air. This content is protected "They told me I couldn't have a dream, now I'm knocking them and boxing them like I was Danny Green," Max MacKinnon raps on the track. Green loved the shout-out and has since become mates with the tight-knit trio, inviting them to hang out at his Perth home on Saturday before the Big Day Out. He was greeted with a huge roar from the crowd at the final show on Sunday when he emerged from the side of the stage. MacKinnon is still beaming after proposing to his girlfriend Megan Gander on Australia Day.
This will prolly put some of his venomous dribblers in a state of apoplexy but if being on top of your game means he's one of the two top boxing earners below the equator, I'd say he's gunna annoy the **** out of his critics for a while.:rofl:rofl:deal
And has done nothing since, he has grown to become the biggest dissapointment in Australian boxing, when you knock out a ledgend you become a ledgend and then fight sick fighters and blokes who shouldnt even be in the crusierweight division. The guy is a farkn clown and has the king of clowns leading his cicrus in Angelo Hyder. statments he could defeat Holyfeild, Haye etc.. what load of horse sht, then guys like LJD say oh thats Hyders fault, well then LJD whos fault is it that Dannys not taking any risks with his fights and hand picking opponents as well as hanging onto a bullsht title with very little meaning that enables him not do have mandatory defences. He retired because he knew he would have been eventually fcked via mandatorys holding a real world title. Danny Green has become the laughting stock of the alpabet soup with Phil Austin as his side kick
