Must be someone in their top 35. It can be someone in the top 50 if the other guy has won his last fight, hasn't been knocked out in two of his last four... and a bunch of other crap.

The IBO can enforce a mandatory defence whenever they want but as Leon said, they rarely do.

have u not noticed the abundant press ( locally and internationally )featuring green through his upset win.

surely that is your answer there.

and for the people bitching about green not fighting a legitimate cruiser opponent, he only just won the damn thing. u think he was gunna pass up all the cash from fighting jones just so he could say he has beaten a fair dinkum cruiser opponent. yeah, not likely.

and also green probably does not know if he will fight at that weight in future. he saw an opportunity to get a mediocre cruiser belt and figured why the **** not. no drastic dieting. and it paid off big time. i'd doubt now he could care less about any criticism regarding the legitimacy of the title really.

we all know he hasn't ko'd a prime tyson etc.

when u can now generate the sort of cash that green can indeed do, u r a major figure in world boxing. it really doesnt matter too much about rankings either. we've all seen dodgy **** when it comes to some fighters and rankings, and getting title shots etc. so its more than likely about making cash.

and u know what, i don't care if they want another $50 out of me for a bout that's for a mediocre belt, as long as green is fighting somebody that deserves the $50, so to speak.

If something is a farce then i'm going to call it a farce. Green's Ibo title is a farce and Mundine being able to healthily make 154 is also a farce.

That would prove the IBO and all Governing bodies farcical... except certain allowances are quite often make. Take a look at Tszyu's defences. I dont think he fought much more than once/year over the last 5 years... Green will continue chasing big names for a title defence, dont worry about that.

Hopefully we see Green belt the next two opponents sooner than later.

 

Greens win against jones was lucky,but sure he can put it in his resume.
Good luck to him,but talking **** about fighting tyson or holyfield ffs.

I can't see the hate on Green by fighting & doing the impossible by stopping a legend in 1 rd, then wanting to fight the likes of Hopkins & Tarver. He's definately not one of my favs but I give a man his dues when he asks for the top names. Dawson is so overrated its not funny so don't give me grief there. Hopkins beat Tarver more convincingly then both Roy or Dawson. And lets not forget the annihilation of Pavlik. **** age Hopkins got better with age & I'd still pick him ot beat Dawson over 12 rds.

 

Roscoe can you explain how it was impossible for green to stop rjj.

 

Dunno, Hopkins got hit heaps more than usual last fight. There's a time limit for everybody even the legend himself.

I say he does Roy over then calls it a day. Leave Dawson alone just in case.
