Questions now being taken for Danny Green live chat - they won't start showing until it's made live around noon http://au.news.yahoo.com/thewest/opinion/post/-/blog/behindtheplay/post/120/comment/1/ Thanks
all these bloody perth ****s are asking silly questions  i wanna know about a Lebedev fight god damnit!
this is ****ing moronic... i have asked 3 or 4 educated and articulate questions and nothing. The only questions he is answering is **** like "why did you act like a caveman?" and "who are you?"
true some of the questions are ****ing dumb, but he is handling them well, i would have told people to get ****ed and shut it down after 5 minutes
12:07 Comment From Brad Danny, good luck with getting the rematch, bring it to Perth bro!! 12:07 Thanks Brad 12:07 Comment From Lindsay G'day Greeny is there any chance the rematch could still be in Australia or if it happens will it definately be in America? 12:08 If we can come to terms and both parties are happy then of course we'd like to do it in Perth. But I really want to go to America and fight him in his back yard so I can concentrate solely on winning a fight. 12:08 Comment From Paulie, Sydney Gday mate, are you fighting on just for Antonio Tarver or is there anyone else you'd want to fight if it doesn't happen. 12:10 DG: I'm always going to try and bring the big fights to Australia. I did it with Jones, I did it with Tarver, and though Stipe Drews wasn't as big a name, i brought a world champion to Australia. Obvioulsy my intention is to rematch Antonio and if that can't happen I guess we'll look at another big fight. 12:10 Comment From X-man Greenie, all the best mate. What happened last time mate, did you underestimate Tarver or was he that good? How would you win a rematch? 12:12 DG: Thanks X-man. In all the lead-up and promotion, and promotional tour and the fight, I constantly told people this was going to be the hardest fight of my career. This proved to be true and then some. At no stage did we ever underestimate him and he's now a five-time wolrd champion. My preparation was pretty good so I wouldn't change a hell of a lot, apart from not having external pressures bearing down on me with the promotion. 12:12 Comment From Jonesy Do you train at a gym called The Safe Haus? 12:13 To everyone reading this, this is my mate Jonesy asking this question. I would never enter that gym even if there were 20 cartons of beer offered! 12:14 Comment From Mr 3 time Danny after such a flogging do you think many people are interested in a rematch? 12:16 DG: Mate, that's what makes this sport so entertaining. If I thought I was going to get the same flogging I did in the first one I'm almost that silly but not quite silly enough to enteratin the idea of copping it again. I think people would be very interested in a rematch but that's not my concern, my concern is winning the fight and getting my title back. 12:16 Comment From john Hi Danny, firstly let me say well done on a great career.... my question was were you 100% going into the Tarver fight and are you really ever 100% going into any fight? You did look a little out of sorts almost from the start of the Tarver bout and never really seemed to get your composure. Was something up?? Cheers. 12:21 DG: Thanks very much John, much appreciated. I would never make any excuses for losing a fight rather than I wasn't good enough on the night. You are right mate, from the get-go I didn't feel "on" and up until round six I was struggling badly. Round two was a knockout punch and the fight would have been stopped there and then for a lot of other fighters, but my chin stood up and I was able to stay in it. Round seven I hurt him a couple of times and mentally and physically I felt that I could pull out a fairytalye Rocky ending. Round eight was fairly even, round nine was going pretty well for me until 25 seconds to go he landed a very powerful, clean shot and then I took close to 20 unanswered blows which left me fairly stuffed. Obviously I wanted to continue but that's what any decent fighter would do. But I respect my brother Brendan and trainer Angelo's decision to call it quits. 12:21 Comment From the pioneer danny, if u win against tarver who will u chase? will u fight huck, cunningham, lebedev or diablo? i have heard all are willing (bar huck) to travel to aus for a fraction of wat it cost to get tarver here. all are legitimate champions/ contenders. and will more then lickely create a bigger buzz then flores/ ciaca/ briggs. seems like a win win to me the fans are happy and u get ur shot at a highly respected title or in lebedevs case beat a highly regarded contender. i also heard a while ago that chad dawson was keen to fight u here, are u interested in matching him? i know he is a lhw but with the weight stipulation normally involved with ur fights i can see u two meeting at a w8 that is comfortable to both. cheers. 12:22 DG: Thanks pioneer. I won't put the cart before the horse and I'll worry about one thing at a time. 12:22 Comment From Paul, Perth Dan, were you surprised by Tarver's power? 12:23 DG: No I wasn't surprised at all and I knew him stepping up to cruiserweight after a decade at light-heavy was going to be advantageous to his power. 12:24 Comment From Albie All the stuff pre fight Danny, the caveman stuff at the press conference. Did you get distracted selling the fight? Good luck mate 12:26 DG: Thanks Albie. The caveman stuff wasn't an attempt to sell anything, it was my way to have a bit of fun and and try to ease the pressure and stress involved in such a big promotion. That said, having the load of the promotion in our backyard did prove to be a distraction. 12:27 Comment From Lindsay g'day Dan any chance you can make light heavyweight again? i wish there was a division 80-85kg..anyway from me and the left jab Danny boys good luck mate and thanks for stopping for a chat as we left star city casino to come back to melbourne it really made our day LEGEND!! 12:27 Comment From Guest Danny that was not you in the ring against Tarver. 12:28 DG: Haha, yes I wish too Lindsay. Was great to see you boys and thanks very much a always for your incredible support. Much appreciated. Hope your horses are all winning. 12:29 DG: Guest, I know that wasn't me - how was the ehad on that bloke? :-} 12:30 Comment From Aiyoh Is boxing men criminal in Australia? I went to fighting in Las Vegas and not same criminal type men at the fight. Or is Perth just bad place 12:32 DG: The same paying customers go to the footy, cricket, soccer, the rugby and are in all other facets of society, not just boxing. It's funny how boxing always gets such a bad rap and the people who go to the fights, but look at the governments in the world and the white-collar criminals they all affilliate with, which really pales into comparison to the people I guess you are talking about. 12:33 Comment From nathan rattley You are an inspriration too many mate 12:33 Comment From Mark,Landsborough,Qld G'day Danny mate you hold your head up we are so proud of you. 12:33 DG: Thanks heaps Mark, really appreciate it. 12:33 Comment From nathan rattley Do you think 39 is too old to take up the sport of boxing for general purposes mate, for simply fitness and learning the Art itself? 12:34 DG: I would suggest at 39 you simply train for fitness and maybe learn to throw a couple of combinations. 12:36 Comment From Guest Hi Danny, i think that you are a true aussie champ and we support you 110% no matter what happens in the ring because it's the great man you are out side of the ring the defines you. you are a credit to your family and WA.....except your a damn 12:37 DG: Thanks heaps Marnie, and by the way I dig the Dockers a lot. Just not as much as the Eagles! 12:37 Comment From Adrian Gday Danny...Quick question, if you had to have an exhibition match with one of the greats, who would that be??? 12:38 DG: Gday Andrew, there's only one - The Greatest, Muhammad Ali! 12:39 Comment From mick bull If the fights over in the states will you be taking a large paycut and just fighting for pride or will you still get paid well with not promoting the fight? 12:40 DG: Mick, I don't know many people who go to work for free. I've done a lot of volunteer work but my profession is the punch-for-pay ranks. 12:40 Comment From Keith Hey Danny - thanks for such great entertainment and positivity, inspirational. I have to say though, I could tell from your eyes when you walking into the ring that just appeared not to "on", do you get nervous, or how do you combat the nerves?
Although you would be pretty pissed off if your question didnt get a run, when he is answering questions like this that aren't even writen in English, lol "[Comment From Aiyoh Aiyoh: ] Is boxing men criminal in Australia? I went to fighting in Las Vegas and not same criminal type men at the fight. Or is Perth just bad place "
hahahaha thats what i was referring to! that exact questions! ****ing ******s... sounds like Gaddaffi wrote it
He was just asked about the shitty IBO ...he response: It doesn't matter what the belt is, it's the fighter who owns the belt and who is putting on the big fights. Myself versus Tarver had worldwide recognition, the same when I defended against Roy Jones. I won the WBA belt against Stipe Drews but universally it didn't make a lot of noise. The WBC belt I won in 03 against Canadian Eric Lucas made some noise because he'd defended his belt three times in America.Ive asked a couple 1) after the flogging would there be any interest : his response thats not my concern just to win the fight .2) will you take a pay cut to fight in the states : his response I dont no any one who works for free blah blah blah...............
This content is protected Sorry to break this you you Danny, but you're going to lose badly again if you don't change something drastic. He gave mostly good answers though, showing a lot of humility.
