    Very Strange.
Family and health is most important.
Lets hope this is a Mundine type publicity stunt to get the average joe to take notice.

    You said it mate.
Green always said that he'd promised his old man that he would retire as a world champ.
Entertaining career, a good Australian and a good role model.

Lets just hope he doesn't make a comeback in 2-3yrs time for a pay day.

Yeah. Takes a whole lot of balls to retire just weeks before a fight with your supposed biggest challenge yet. If he's fit and healthy (which looks to be the case), then I don't see a reason why he shouldn't retire after his fight unless he's suffering from self doubt in his upcoming fight.

guys better to retire 1 fight too soon then 1 fight too late. He had a gut feeling that he was done and retired. plenty have gone 1 or 2 past when they should have retired and have felt the effects the rest of there lives. He has money a family and a bright future over here in the west where he is huge All he has to do is do what he thinks is right and that is what he has done

This will be a disappointment for Mundine too, who im sure was looking forward to taking the 175 scrap from Green. Mundine has been preaching about a rematch with green after he fights Sammy, so where to for choc after sammy?

FAIR enough but garay would rather win a WT l egitimatly than like this.if mundine did this 2 weeks before a fight there would be a 200 page thread bagging him out (which i would be hea vily involved in).:yep
