green is pascal's mandatory for the WBC light heavyweight title is he not? he should be after that title rather than having a nonsense fight against siaca. i like green but this is a massive letdown with him facing siaca. i don't want to hear another word from greens mouth about having a go at mundine for fighting bums because fighting siaca is a huge step backwards, there is no way of sugar-coating it. i think green would beat pascal and i think he is mad for not pushing for the fight.
I think you will find Chad Dawson is the Interim champion, so he's firmly inline also to face Pascal and I'm sure I read reports some weeks back saying both camps were in discussions. I like the idea of a Green vs Pascal fight also from a boxing fans perspective, but it's plain to see which way Danny's headed.
I'm suprised he is even rated by the WBC let alone a mandatory, he's on the circus route anyway the fight won't happen.
Pascal and Dawson are fighting i believe. Green has no intention of fighting for a proper legitimate title anyway. He has the highly prestigious IBO bull**** cruiser title that he so proudly defends against light heavy's.
be fair dinkum. if u don't like him fair enough but i don't see pascal beating green. i'm not convinced he is not interested in fighting for the better titles. he may in recent times be seemingly only focused on a bout with mundine, but with the two of them so far apart in terms of weight i'd doubt a fight with mundine would be within 18 months, and i am not really expecting the fight to even go ahead at all. so i would expect green to either take a big fight sooner or later or he'll just retire.
Weight difference is nothing Buster. If and when are both ready, they will announce and the bout get's made. They are each other's dance partner and one can't do without the other. I can't describe it any simpler than that.
josey, stop pissing in my pocket. if u think green can't beat pascal then u r a lier, and u know it. i'm a realist and i know green has a fantastic chance of beating pascal.
Pretty clear as day Green came back to boxing purely for the money, and the best way he can do this at the moment is to lure Mundine into a fight. Purely a strategic move to fight Siaca. After he destroys him, he can say he destroyed the guy Muundine lost to, and hope to have some leverage when it comes to negotiations. Sort of the same thing Mayweather hoped to achieve by facing Marquez, . . . a guy who Pacquaio has had 2 close fights with. Lets get one thing clear here. . . Danny has no intention whatsoever to fight for a legitimate title. ... EVER
Buster Come on mate i've liked the look of this Green kid for year's and yes you could call me a fan of his but Jean would BOX the **** out of him imo ,,,,,, But its only an opinion mate this is what makes the sport what it is ie we all know one style beat anothers, Jean boxes slick ( RJJ'ish if you like ) how do you see Danny coping with that style ? We all know any decent BOXER batters Danny 9 times out of 10 .
Correct, Danny's comeback is purely for money and i don't have a problem with that. Green to fight Siaca, followed by Briggs followed by Mundine 2 at end of year then retire again. Should pick up about 4-5 million for those 3 fights combined.
apparently RJJ has a rematch clause.throw that in there as well depending how he gos against Hopkins.
