Crap like that..talking about "woman sounds" like Tyson spoke of with Tyrell Briggs...or that fat loser Areola, who I first respected, talking about the "moaning sounds" Vitali was making (when he wasn't beating the **** out of him) is just plain disrespectful and tasteless..I feel great sympathy for Jones..never was a big fan of his but damn...that kind of talk demeans Green.

 

Green wouldn't have been able to carry Jones' spit bucket a few years ago.

I would like roy to finally retire, personally I thought he should have hung the gloves up years ago, sadly he hasnt retired from boxing, boxing has retired him.

 

I was being sarcastic with my earlier post. But yeah.But what can you say? This is boxing .

Green doesn't come across as being particularly sentimental ,but he did the business. And you can't ask anything more of him as a fighter.

 

Oh I'm happy for Green...I've got nothing against him really except for what I mentioned...young lions kill old lions..that's the way of the game..just be respectful that's all.

 

Ironic, cause you're talking about the need for respect yet you're the one lacking it. I agree with the general thrust of your post, but there's also no need to **** on Danny Green like youre doing. Yes he isn't 5% of the fighter Jones was, is that a reason to demean him? You should be respectful to any fighter who gets in the ring. Green's won a couple of world titles and that is more than any of us will ever accomplish as well.

 

Roy is so over, it gets old reading the excuses his fans make, if he keeps fighting he will be slobering on himself wearing a diaper by the time he is 50 the guy cant take a punch.

 

RJJ is an arrogant ass and now he is just an embarrassment in every way.
He just make a video about how to get knocked out in a boxing match.

You guys have to face facts...Roy took that fight fully knowing what his diminished abilities were and like most he thought that would still be enough to beat a guy like Danny Green...Obviously it wasnt, Danny did the job and thats that.

Im not really a big fan of Green but he has been perfectly reasonable and respectful before, during and after this fight.

 

No not ****ed up...in Green had never heard that noise before. He was not being disrespectful at all.

Green had noticed a hole in Jone's defence and trained like every one does when planning the fight, to take advantage of it should it happen.

Yes...Jones did not know how to box....like a Herbie Hyde, or an then large Ali, when the reflex is gone....there is no defensive boxing skill there to take the place of reflex.

When both had belts, Sanders signed to fight Jones and Jones's did not sign the contract.
That was the time when Jones wanted the first $25 million to fight Lewis and Lewis could have what was left over.
Back when he refused to fight Tua and then Vittili his number one challangers.


I really got tired of Poor Jones had to loose 17-19 pounds from 193 to make it back to Lt. Heavy.....he had 36 hours to recover after weigh in....then it was some months later he got beat ..... Archie Moore, had 8 hours from weigh in, back when he was a top five Heavy Contender (@195) and Lt. Heavy Champ at the same time....Moore was an old man too when he was doing that regular.

Just before any big fight by other fighters, Jones would say he was going to fight a live body with a name, and never did. Jerov(sp) was just one of many.


Jones was a pretty good fighter...nothing more.

Never unified at any weight, never tried...

dodged DM for 7 years after offering to fight him, when Jones had no belt, for twice as much as Hill's 2 million, the then highest purse in German history.....then had a clause in his HBO contract that HBO could never mention DM's name....


Hell if Jones had wanted a Lt. Heavy belt he could have challanged Zolt Erdie.....oddly he never did.

 

Did I hear the commentator say that THAT was the biggest fight in Australian boxing history? Why?!!!

 

Danny Green is not a young lion. He's already been retired and come back. He's four years younger than Jones.

 

It wasn't, he was just talking the fight up.
