WTF either he now has the punch resistance of my nearly 3month old daughter (Actually she probably has better punch resistance) or he got caught cold or the fix was in. His legs are pretty much completely gone though, thats for sure

And no its not sad he took hom about 5million for a 30second beating, in which he didnt take that many shots

He was at sea...He is done. I was telling all the aussies that one win over Lacy doesnt make him unshot but I did not expect that to happen.
He was being Roy... lackadaisical and trying to play it cool on the ropes but his reflexes are so far gone a punch he would avoided 10 times out of 10 5 years ago caught him cold on a bad place.

I initially picked Green on points but kind of backed away from that pick in case I was horribly wrong. :D

    Hope he retires.

RJJ has been washed-up for years.
    This is no surprise.

Thank god Danny demolished Roy and more than likely put the final nail in the coffin.

I still wouldn't put it past Hopkins to call Roy out, but at least now if they fight he won't get any credit for it, which he probably still would have before tonight by the average semi-******ed boxing fan, who would have been claiming things like 'Bernard is now the better fighter of the two' after Hopkins got done massacring the corpse of Roy Jones.

Never understood why he went up to cruiser with his chin. They must of offered him a lot of money. I still think he can hang in there with Hopkins who doesnt punch very hard. Green can bang a bit. Jones should just really retire, he gets hurt way too easy now.

Well i've always thought that at this stage of their careers, Hopkins would brutalise Roy, Hopkins has great fundamentals and would be able to do what he wanted to a Roy Jones who can't move anymore.

That's the thing with fighters who are not really great technically but are gifted naturally, when them natural gifts diminish they're basically ****ed. (in theory)

How many more times does your boy need to be shut down for you to get it, Lefthook? Jones is finished. He was just knocked out by a B level fighter at best, and Hopkins, who just won every round against Pavlik, would embarrass him. Let him retire, he ain't superman no more.

Just goes to show guys like robinson and duran could fight at a decent level and not get trounced even in their late thirties and fourties. Also hopkins, foreman and ali. And just think ali and foreman were just like jones in that they were though to over rely on their physical gifts....

Yeah that's why i said in theory at the end of my post. Because of Ali. Ali relied on physical gifts and still more than got by when he was at the end of the road.

The thing is ali may be unique in that he was fundamentally not orthodox,or technically correct yet still kicked ass in his old age. The exception that proves the rule is muhammed...
In fact, can you think of any other example of a 'physical gifts' non technician who still got by when older? Maybe big george, who got by on smarts and heart just like ali?

Yes he is, you talk about him with stars in your eyes all of the time. Now your suggesting he can hang with Hopkins, even though he was was just blown away by a fighter he'd have treated like a junior sparring partner 6 years ago? Come on now, Hopkins embarrasses him. Jones needs to retire.

The fight was at 180 lb catchweight. Green has been a super middle for the majority of his career.

Ali did NOT kick any ass in his old age.

He was 36 when he registered his last win, against Leon Spinks, a novice who'd just beaten him.

RJJ is 5-2 since he turned 37 !
