You shoud hear the crap on the General Forum. "Lucky punch. **** Green" "Who knows what would have happened if the shot didn't land" "Rabbit Punch! **** Green" "Jones wasn't seriously hurt. Bull**** stoppage" And my personal favorite. "Green didn't mean to do that, it just happened"
Hey ding dong, noone is saying Jones is still in his prime or not shot, and to think Hopkins is, like you are implyiing is just as ridiculous. If you look at their age, styles, punching power and all things considered its not a foregone massacre like you think. Sure Hopkins would be favored now, especially if he wins his fight, but to say he would blow Jones away when hes never blown anyone away is ridiculous. Im not convinced that his chin has gotten worse than its been lately, just that he got caught once again, mainly because hes slowed down so much.
Hopkins is coming off beating p4p rated opposition with relative ease. Jones Jr, in complete contrast, was just sparked out by a B level fighter, and not to many years have passed since the Tarver and Johnson destruction's. Hopkins goes nailbitingly close to beating Calzaghe, whereas Jones gets his pants taken down in embarrassing fashion by the same man. If Hopkins entertains the idea of fighting Roy, I'll never forgive him. It's over..let it go.
Don't get to excited. All Jones has to do is come onto Eastside Boxing for a confidence builder. "Maybe it was just a lucky shot, maybe I was ****ed by the referee, maybe I can still whoop Hopkins". That's all I keep hearing.
Stop implying I think Jones is still in his prime or even close to it. Maybe you and I can bet on the fight if it happens. Ill take either fighter by decision and you can take either fighter by KO?
...The fact you're entertaining the idea of the fight still going through makes you a bloody idiot in my eyes. Why would you want to see Jones in the ring again, it baffles the mind.
Because I think he can still be competitive with Hopkins around the 168 weight limit. So do we have a bet? How about 100 pounds or quid or whatever you drunks call it.
...Like I said, completely in-denial. Blinded by your love for a fighter you grew up admiring. It's over...smarten up.
I'm curious Lefthook, who has to render Jones unconscious for you to finally be convinced that Jones is done?
Hopkins, who couldnt knock out William Joppy, ODLH, Trinidad until 12, Keith Holmes, and Jermain Taylor. If he knocks Jones out Ill be convinced Jones is now a mere corpse.
Hopkins may not stop Roy, but he'd embarrass him over the entire 12 rounds. Jones would probably prefer to be stopped dead, than having to endure such embarrassment, reminiscent of what he had to go through against Joe Calzaghe. It's pointless, and anyone who still wants to see the fight must be little silly, or maybe they have Danny Green in their top 3 p4p list.
