Really? Because I can't remember him knocking out a world class opponent apart from shot Roy Jones (And Jones was still on his feet) and Lucas (who was old and sick and sat down after getting punched, not even knocked down). I haven't seen this power you speak of.
Tarver's last outing was at heavyweight and he weighed in at 221. To make cruiserweight against Green he's obviously got to shed at least 21 lbs. Do you really think he can lose a minimum of 21 lbs and not come in fit?
I think Tarver can outbox him. There will be no knockouts with neither ever being stopped previously.
Tarver is 42 years old and coming down in weight again over 21 pounds from his previous fight. His bodyweight fluctuates up and down a lot and you cant do that for a fighter of his age. He certainly isnt going to knock Green out and unless he gets a schooling of a lifetime there aint no way Green is losing a decision down under. Easy Green Money in the bank to bet on Danny Boy.
I like Danny, but I don't have much enthusiasm for this fight. Fair enough, he is trying to get some money before retiring. Fair enough, he is fighting the guys he always dreamed of fighting. But really, it is lose/lose. If he beats Tarver, then so what? He is seen as beating up a faded old man. If he loses, then his detractors will have a field day. I understand why he wants to fight the Tarvers, Jones and Hopkins. It's not because he wants lame fights (Green wants Hopkins badly, and has offered to literally throw cash at him - and that would not be an easy fight for him) but unfortunately it can end up being lame anyway. Let's hope he makes his money, has his fun and gets out with enough cash to retire on - like I hope almost every boxer could do. But if Danny wants to keep on fighting, then he is going to have to look at the top 10 list for opponents. Green vs Tarver = yawn.
Dannys been droped by someone not even remotely as good as Tarver, it is possible he can get knocked down by a fighter 10 times better in Tarver. Danny was lucky that fight was stopped via cut because he was on his way to having his ass handed to him, many people quickly forget. He is no monster its why he cherry picks in a division he has made up all for the IBO bullsht title.
put the fight up then tc so you can back up your ludicrous claims , ive got the fight on dvd he clearly won the fight and got hit by a good shot when he was off balance, bum barely hit the floor before he was back up, it was also the first fight back since sean sullivan which almost killed him from dehydration
Might as well ask who killed JFK. When it comes to conspiracy theories, do you really want to hear what the nutjobs think?
Ive been arguing with my friends all day about this fkn fight, Too hard to say how this could go....I do hope Tarver can outbox him, & i think he wants to keep his credibility intact so he'l be cautious to begin with, i think he still has enough left to use his angles against green & work his way to a decision....Or it could end up a big slugfest :deal Either way ive put $$ on Tarver, so sue me...
