na mate he didnt...it was really serious and he got operated on asap when they knew what was going on.the logistics of his travels from hospital to hospital and bieng in opertated on are all on the public record.he was in HDA so that shows he was seriously in big trouble....his media blitz was in regarding how backward the health system is here in WA,you got to remember we have the liberals in power here.the last budget they didnt give 1 dollar to the major hospital.

looking at the recent sparring session thats been put on youtube it looks pretty clear to me that its the same Tarver who fought in his last fight at Heavyweight, it wont matter the weight diffrence since he is a shot fighter.

He no longer produces a high workload, he is just throwing ones and twos, occasionally he may put a few more punches together but other than that its all he is really doing. He is a former shell of the old Tarver and the mention of RJJ is part of the whole sales pitch.

He may be making mention of RJJ, no doubt because Greeny knocked him out and Tarver was the 1st to do it, they didnt just pick Tarver and pay him 1.5 million for no reason, there is plenty other guys they could have chosen who would have actually brought titles to the table (something of worth) but they wanted a movie star/name, Tarver fits the bill perfectly.

Tarver just dont have the workrate anymore and he knows it, his style has changed and he has become spradic, he fights in spurts during his bouts now, doesnt really commit like he did back in the old days against RJJ, he is no longer hungry.

All will be revealed in a month's time.

People seem to forget Tarver unified the light heavyweight belts and has has wins over Roy Jones (twice!) and Montel Griffin.

Tarver has only ever lost to very, very accomplished fighters eg. Dawson, Hopkins & Jones.

I may seem silly here, I originally thought the fight was a joke, especially after viewing his previous fight at HW. However personally I thought the sparring showed me a little something to be positive about, It looked like he had a game plan and was working towards luring green in and fighting on the backfoot, maybe catching green with the uppercut or left hook coming off the ropes?
I still think Green will win a wide UD and agree that Tarvers glory days are over. I just think maybe it will be a more interesting fight then I originally fought.
Surprised to say, I think I will buy and watch this! :)

I think tarver is going to fight like how mundine did against Green. Firstly on the ropes by countering him until he can counter him in the middle of the ring, the sparring sought of showed that.

It will be interesting to see if this still works on Green though. Green has learnt a thing or two since his loss to Mundine. Not saying he's improved in leaps and bounds, but he is fighting a lil smarter than he used to, and Ive noticed when he lets go and fires, he does so in multi-punch combinations, which is something he didnt do so much in the past.

He couldnt do so much in the past because he was slow for his division, he lacked the speed, however at CW/Dannyweight he does have some speed, of course one would against natrual heavy guys who are slower.

I said this months ago on this site and others that this engagement involves a shot fighter who was dreadful in his last fight, against an opponent who is recovering f`rom a life threatening illness that reportedly ripped 20kilos from his body. God help us and boxing!

Big diffrence from 5kg to 20kg.

He has a cyst drained and appendix removed. The life threatning bit is a WHAT IF statment, pertaining to WHAT IF his appendix had burst. However you need to take in mind that his appendix wasnt the problem, the cyst was, the appendix was removed as a saftey precaution and so they didnt have to go back in and remove it at a later stage . From all reports there was infact nothing wrong with his appendix other than it had a cyst growing around it.

People get cysts on their heads, dont mean they get their heads chopped off haha, People also go into Day Surgery to have Cysts removed and drained lol The recovery time is quite fast, especially if the Appendix or Cyst did not burst. Some people are recoverd and back to normal in 7 days, of course no heavy lifting for a few weeks.

When idiots like Danny Green and Angelo Hyder make statements I tend to believe the complete opposite to what they say.

Francis tends to be a bit of a glass-half-empty type of guy.
