John is a boxer.

Besides, he's had Merdov shaken up a few times and ultimately will probably stop him.

 

Round 6

Thumping body shots by John. Merdov backs up in straight lines, with John staying off his jab using head movement and crouches and banging the body. Merdov is wincing and doubling over from right hands to the body now, collapsing onto John in clinches. Beautiful body punching by John.

Instead after a commercial break they're back in the studio and analyzing footage of Wlodarczyk vs. Green.

 

Man, that was an entertaining clinic despite being a total mismatch.

John may be a homebody, but he's proven his balls and his grit by rematching Rocky and by then brawling with Daud Yordan.

 

Yeah, it cut to black right at the end of the sixth round before the bell had rung. Maybe they've already explained and apologized for technical difficulties but none of us speak Polish so we'd have no way of knowing.

Round 9

John is hooking in low, and eats a soft uppercut. High jabs by John. Merdov backs up and jabs, and snaps out a right hand that goes wide. John comes forward and hits the brake to let Merdov jab the air. Hooks to the body by John, whose pace has slowed a bit. John dances back to reset and circles left, shimmying. High jabs poked in by John. Merdov pushes down on the top of his head and John charges him into the ropes. Merdov misses a few jabs and then a right hand over John's shoulder while eating a counter jab. Right hand by John. Merdov misses more jabs and rights and gets slapped with a hook to the head.
