    He is done, imo.

But after the Adamek fights, you have to support Briggs. Briggs is my favorite of Adamek's opponents, cause he came to fight, took some, and gave some right back. Briggs is a warrior!

I was excited when they announced this fight, and it was made
in time enough for briggs to get a long camp in. As an american
i don't get to see alot of briggs or green's fights but i really see this as
a near pick-em and i agree with paul when he says green has never been
in the ring w/ anyone like him. Green, has never been in the ring with
a big punching, powerful natural lightheavy before, so green will feel
power like he's never felt before. However, with the long layoff and reported health issues with briggs you have to lean a little towards danny.
Unless the same briggs who showed up twice in the goral fights, then i'll
have to pick briggs over green. Either way, you aussies get a gem of a
fight. This fight cannot be bad..............no fukkin' way.

This is probably old news, but like most I've been away over summer:

    Paul (Hurricane) Briggs

from 8 Count News dot com - Jan 12th 2011

Briggs, the former light heavyweight contender and native of Australia who was once ensconced in glory following his brawl with then-WBC light heavyweight champion Tomasz Adamek back in 2006, traded that glory for infamy following a suspect first round knockout loss to IBO cruiserweight champion Danny Green back on July 21, 2010 in his first bout in three years.

In the fall-out from the Green fight, media reports indicated that Briggs might have been neurologically unfit to compete in the first instance and, more sinisterly, may have gone in the tank for the benefit of Lebanese underworld figures who bet heavily on a first round knockout win for Green.

If Briggs tried to apply for license to box in New York, he would face several obstacles.

, NYSAC could also decide, in its discretion, to recognize the cancellation of his registration in Western Australia and decline to issue him a license for that reason as well.

Additionally, NYSAC could find him medically unfit if medical testing confirmed the reports of Briggs’ neurological impairment going into the Green fight.

I had wondered what had become of this situation. It was certainly suspect.

A broke and medically unfit man trying to put food on the table. Briggs missed out on the big money fights other Australians like Mundine and Green had, that's when an offer of $250k to fight Green was too much a temptation to refuse.

Sadly his boxing career will be tarnised forever.

Guys this fight was fixed for sure, briggs was a tough fighter and not a guy who would easily go down.
Then a lot of bets come in at that round 1 for green to win by ko. huge bets.
And green wins with a ko punch that would not even would have put a crippled guy down.
He definitely threw the fight and received money for it.
So therefore he is rightfully banned and fined and his legacy is tarnished.
As a fan of boxing I can understand why he did it but a guy loses my respect when he does it, so he got what he deserved in my opinion.
